A New Trailer For Star Wars Outlaws Is Here
The trailer is short and sweet, previewing what we’ll see on June 10. The longer trailer will be revealed as part of Ubisoft Forward. Still, it gives us another look at some of the areas we’ll get to explore, ranging from large open worlds to bounty hunter-filled back alleys. We won’t have to traverse these areas solely by foot, as we see Kay using a speeder through the desert and also over a body of water.
Despite these new trailers, Star Wars Outlaws has come under fire in recent weeks, due to its multiple releases. This is nothing new in the triple-A gaming space, but many see it as particularly egregious thata mission involving Jabba the Hutt, Jabba’s Gambit, will be locked behind a paywall. It will only be playable if you have the season pass, which comes with the game in special editions that are priced at $109.99 and $129.99. The base game at $70 will not include Jabba’s Gambit or the other side quests thatUbisoftis planning post-launch.
In response to the backlash,Ubisoft defended the move, explaining that Jabba’s Gambit is “optional”. It added that Jabba’s faction will still feature in the game for everyone, so this isn’t locking the whole character behind a season pass.
In any case, Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch this August - with its various editions and the season pass intact. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
