Summary
With months now having passed since the release of the lastamiibo, not to mention no special releases for the last three Mario games onSwitch, it’s probably safe to assume that, for now at least,Nintendois done with amiibo. Its focus has largely been on reprinting older figures so far in 2024, and next up on the list is what might end up being the last new amiibo we ever get. Sora’s Smash Ultimate amiibo, previously very hard to find, is back in stock at GameStop.
Sora’s figure has been out of stock pretty much everywhere since shortly after its was released in February, at least if you want to pay a normal price for it. It felt likely that would be the case forever more, but GameStop has got its hands on a fresh batch. The Sora amiibo is in stock there right now for its regular $15.99 price through the link in the box below, but be quick. It will almost certainly sell out fast, and as with anything Nintendo, when something sells out, you never quite know if it will return.

Sora’s amiibo was revealed last year, much to the relief ofKingdom Heartsfans and Smash amiibo collectors alike. Considering the tangled web that must have been creating merch for a character created bySquare EnixandDisneybased on their appearance in a Nintendo game, there was every chance Sora was never turned into an amiibo. Thankfully all three companies came together and Sora’s amiibo release brought the curtain down on Smash figure releases, and amiibo releases in general, a few months ago.
Sora’s Amiibo Restocked At GameStop
Sora Amiibo
Sora’s amiibo is real and coming in 2024. The final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character to get his own figure, something that wasn’t a sure thing due to Kingdom Hearts' Disney connection.
Even though there are no new amiibo on the horizon, figures from the past have been popping up here and there. The only problem is there’s no pattern to which figures will be reprinted, nor where they might show up.Cloud and Sonic’s figures were restockedin March, and a couple of weeks before thatsome Monster Hunter Stories amiibo were re-released. That at least makes sense as it coincided with the reveal thatMonster Hunter Storieswas coming to Switch.
The last new game to get its own amiibo is now over a year old -Tears of the Kingdom. A Link figure was released alongside theBreath of the Wild sequel, and Zelda and Ganondorf amiibo followed. Even if Nintendo doesn’t intend on bringing amiibo support along with it to the Switch 2, it seems like money has been left on the table by not creating figures for games likeSuper Mario Bros. Wonderand The Thousand-Year Door. That said, Nintendo is no stranger to leaving money on the table, and it seems to be doing okay regardless.
