Summary

Sly Cooperstepping back into the spotlight was not something I had on my 2024 video game bingo card, but I’m very glad it has.Sucker Punch’s platforming raccoon reminded everyone he still exists whenhis first game was added to PS Plus Premiumearlier this month. Now Youtooz’s director has revealed the figure makers plan to ride the wave of Sly Cooper momentum by releasing its first-ever design based on the iconic video game character.

Kyle Sparks, the director of brand at Youtooz, shared an image of what Sly Cooper’s first figure will hopefully look like on social media. Just concept art for now, but Sparks confirmed that this is an official project and the figure is coming, and not just a fun idea he’s thrown out to the fandom because he’s a part of it. Sparks notes that Sly 2: Band Of Thieves is his favorite game ever, so turning Cooper into a Youtooz figure is likely something they’ve been trying to make happen for a while.

Let The World Know We Want More Sly

It’s impossible to say whether PlayStation has even considered a brand new Sly Cooper game, let alone if it has one in the works. Hard to imagine PlayStation wants Sucker Punch working on anything other than aGhost Of Tsushimasequel right now. However, between news that the Crash N.Sane Trilogy has sold 20 million copies, and the hype forAstro Bot’s release later this year, maybe PlayStation and other studios will give platforming mascots old and new more consideration when figuring out what to do next.

There are ways to let Sucker Punch and PlayStation know we want more Sly Cooper, and clearly those with PS Plus Premium are already doing that. Another way is to buy Sly Cooper Youtooz in our droves once the concept becomes a reality. Sly also has his own Funko Pop, however, it’s not readily available anymore and paying $130 for it from a third-party seller on Amazon won’t help convince PlayStation to give Sly more attention. Wait for the Youtooz figure and we’ll all buy it together.
