Summary
Sly Cooperfans are uniting on social media, rallying around the recently released PS2 port of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus to try and show Sony that the series is still relevant.
PlayStation has a bunch of franchises with dedicated fans that are begging for a new game in their respective series.Bloodborne,Resistance, Killzone, Jak & Daxter, and a few more are all regularly mentioned in conversations whenever the topic of dormant PlayStation games is brought up, though Sly Cooper fans have beenone of the more vocal communitiesover the past few years.
It’s easy to see why too, as Sly Cooper is such a great series, which many are recently discovering thanks to the first game being made available to purchase and download as part of the PS5’s classics catalog. Clearly sensing an opportunity to let Sony know that Sly Cooper is still well-liked and relevant in 2024, fans have been rallying around the title to try and push the publisher into reviving the series with a new game.
Sly Cooper Fans Are Rallying To Get A Series Revival
Sly Cooper fan account TheSafeHouserecently took to Twitterto urge those with the game to keep playing it and talking about it, in the hopes that Sony will notice. It’s a post that’s gained quite a bit of traction too, having racked up well over 1k likes and numerous replies mentioning how much of a nostalgia kick playing the game again has been.
If there was EVER a time to show Sony Sly is still relevant, it’s now. Keep playing the game, post about it, show them Sly is still valuable.
Unfortunately, Sly Cooper developers Sucker Punchstated back in 2022 that they had “no plans” for a new game in the series, as most of their attention is probablyon a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Then again, we’ve seen that people are hungry for some of PlayStation’s more colorful titles, and all the excitement surrounding the recently announced Astro Bot is proof of that.
If it does well, which is looking likely from initial interest, it’s possible Sony could follow the gravy train, and we might start seeing the return of some of the company’s more colorful franchises.
