Since Yangyang is a starter four-star character, her skills are basic and her playstyle is very simple. However, with proper combos and some tricks, you can unleash Yangyang’s true potential and make her one of the most fun characters to play. Even though Yangyang won’t be a match for the other “meta” damage dealers, she can be made powerful enough to help you breeze through Wuthering Waves without any issues.

Harmonize Your Attacks

Yangyang’s Forte Circuit gauge is based on her “Melodies”. Using Yangyang’s “Melodies” optimally is the key to playing her at max potential.

you may stack up to threeMelodies for an Enhanced attack combo. This enhanced attack combo consists of a charged attack and a plunge attack with a large AOE.

After an Enhanced Heavy attack, Yangyang will jump into the air, and you can follow it up with a plunge attack for another Enhanced attack. You can use various methods to gain “Melodies”, and all of them are;

Most players who play Yangyang will make themistake of spamming normal attacksto obtain Melody stacks and this wastes a lot of time. To optimally gain Melody stacks, it’s best to use yourIntro Skill+ Resonance Skill + Heavy attack + One Normal attack.

If you are playing Yangyang on the field at all times, Heavy attack + One Normal attack is the best combo to quickly gain Melody stacks.

Control The Crowd To Control The Battle

With Yangyang’s Aero attribute, she comes equipped with excellent crowd control abilities. This makesYangyang a great character for battles that involve lots of small enemies.

It’s best to use Yangyang’scrowd control skillsfirstwhen entering the battle and then switch to your main damage dealer.

Be mindful of your positioningwhen using Yangyang’s crowd control skills. In places like Tower of Adversity where crowd control skills can be a lifesaver, it’s generally good to play Yangyang while staying close to thecenter of the stage.

Yangyang’s enhanced attacks and her resonance liberation willprovide crowd control.In combat situations like Tower of adversity, it’s best to use Yangyang resonance liberation first and then her enhanced attacks. This will make sure theresonance energy gained from using skills will not be wasted,and the enemies will begrouped together.

Crowd control and damage is not the only thing Yangyang has to offer. Yangyang’soutro skill provides Resonance Liberation energyfor the next character that takes the field.

This is one of Yangyang’s strongest points and makes sure to switch to a character that has ahigh energy cost.

Havoc Rover and Jiyanare some characters that work well with Yangyang’s Resonance Liberation charge. Generally, it’s best topair Yangyang with a main damage dealerthat has a high resonance liberation energy cost.

Yangyang Is A Team Player

Yangyang is not someone you want to use to solo Wuthering Waves. Even though it might be possible, it’s best to play Yangyang as a team support. Her concerto bar can be filled quickly, and thus it’s better toalways have her as a sub-damage dealerin any team composition.

The recipe for a great Yangyang team is:Resonance liberation dependent main damage dealer + Yangyang + Any healer.

Yangyang’s major contribution to the team is helping you set up the battlefield. Fly in with her intro skill, crowd control the enemies and swap out of her to give energy resonance regeneration to the next character.

All In Within Eight Seconds

Yangyang’s Inherent Skill gives hereight percent Aero Damage bonusfor eight seconds, which is further increased by15 percent in Sequence One. To maximize your damage during rotations,it’s best to use Yangyang’s whole skill set within eight seconds. The most optimal way to use Yangyang during those eight seconds seconds is;

Intro Skill - Plunge attack - Resonance Liberation - Heavy Attack - One Normal Attack - Resonance Skill - Heavy Attack

This might seem complicated at first, but it’s easy when put into action. OpeningYangyang with her Intro Skillwill give her one stack of Melody. Afterward, follow it up with aplunge attackto quickly cancel the intro skill animation and then use herResonance Liberation.

Now you are ready to unleash Yangyang’s normal attack combos, which is a Heavy attack followed by a single normal attack for one more stack of melody. Finally, a Resonance skill for the third stack of Melody and then a heavy attack to unleash Yangyang’s enhanced attack.

If done correctly, this combo will quickly fill up your concerto gauge fromzero to full within eight secondsmost of the time. If it didn’t fill,a single normal attackor adodge/counterwould make up for it.
