Summary

Stellar Bladeoffers a unique gameplay experience as you take control of Eve in her bid to reclaim the planet. However, mastering the high-octane combatand navigating the ruined world requires a little bit more than the typical butt-kicking repertoire and fancy swordplay we are all accustomed to.

There are a couple of gameplay elements that the game does not generally make apparent to you, ranging from combat tricks, hidden environmental hacks, and exploits that add a whole hidden layer of complexity to the game. The following are some of the hidden gameplay mechanics that you may not have stumbled upon and how you can utilize them to your advantage.

7You Can Become Invincible

While you cannot explicitly vanish and move around unseen in the game, you’re able to become invincible for a while when you are using theTempest skill. The skill allows you to create a ranged attack of blades within an area using burst energy, which is perfect for disbursing a group of enemies.

When you activate the skill, Eve actually vanishes for a moment in the animation that follows the attack. This ability can be used to dodge some of the enemy’s powerful attacks while simultaneously countering the enemy without taking any damage while in this mode.

You need four burst energy bars to activate the Tempest skill.

6Hit The Lion Statue For Gold

If you need a financial boost in the game, then you can utilize the Lion statue, which can be found around theParking Tower in Eidos 7. It is not particularly hard to miss, as you will come across it immediately after youencounter Abaddon, and it is also relatively large, surrounded by some wooden crates.

When you are close to it, you’re able to give it a whack with your sword, and it will spill out some gold. Keep in mind that hitting it may also cause it to roar, but this should be of no concern as it is harmless.

It does not give unlimited gold, so it can only be milked (metaphorically speaking) a few times before it runs dry.

5Adjust Settings To Easily Locate Collectibles

In case you don’t want to explore and find items that you can interact with in the game by yourself, you can utilize the high-contrast setting in the game menu, which automatically highlights objects around the game to make them more visible.

This option is not enabled by default but can be useful to quickly show you areas of interest around the map. It can be found in the Settings interface under the accessibility section, and it gives you three presets to choose from.

Enabling this option also highlights you and other in-game characters you come across.

4You Can Lock Enemies In A Stun Mode

Ever feel like those monstrousbosses in Stellar Bladeare just toying with you? Dodging attacks, desperately healing, and barely scratching their health bar? Well, you can quickly turn the tide in your favor by creating a chain of stuns to continuously inflict damage without getting attacked yourself.

This can be done by utilizing theBlade Fury skillwhile in Tachy mode. Blade Fury allows you to charge at enemies headfast which effectively inflicts damage while simultaneously stunning them. You can infinitely use this skill in Tachy mode until the mode runs out, as no burst energy will be used, which will lock them in continuous stun mode.

3You Can Parry Projectiles Too

Parrying in itself is a core mechanic in the game, where you may block incoming enemy attacks. However, in addition to physical enemy attacks, you can also time and parry some of the projectiles that enemies throw at you.

These can be a bit difficult to anticipate as the range usually varies, but if you get the timing right, you can lob the projectile back at the enemy. Keep in mind, however, that this only works with blockable projectiles, and you cannot parryprojectiles indicated by a yellow flashbefore they reach you.

2Use A Shock Grenade

Shock grenades don’t cause any physical damage, but they can effectively disrupt enemies by creating a wave that stuns and disorients them which leaves them vulnerable for a short period. The impact of the sonic blast depends on the enemy type. Weaker enemies might be completely stunned, while stronger ones might experience a shorter stagger or a reduction in attack speed.

The sonic grenade can also trigger environmental reactions. For example, if you throw it near explosive canisters, it can detonate them remotely, creating an area-of-effect attack that damages enemies. You can also combine this grenade with a barrage of attacks to quickly overwhelm an enemy.

1Use Onslaught III + Incursion III For A Powerful Attack

Onslaught IIIis a two-part combo that begins with two attacks, followed by a final longer attack with an animation towards the end. It’s a simple sequence that delivers significant damage in a quick burst and can allow you to get behind an enemy.

You can combine this with anIncursion III attack, which continuously slashes an enemy to create a powerful attack sequence that will deal significant damage to enemies. The Incursion attack can also be done as an aerial maneuver if you jump before executing it.

Onslaught III requires minimal energy to execute, making it a reliable damage source, especially when managing your energy reserves during boss fights.
