Summary
Ubisoft announced way back in 2020 that it wasremaking Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, but after enormous backlash to its reveal, the game was delayed andmoved to the Montreal studiowhere work on bringing the 2003 classic to modern audiences was"redone" from scratch.
After countless reports of tumultuous development and waves of backlash from fans, and withtwonew Prince of Persia games out, we finally have a release date for The Sands of Time - 2026.

We still haven’t seen anything from the revamped Sands of Time remake other than… a candle. The art style of the original reveal drew so much backlash that Ubisoft went back to the drawing board and delayed the game indefinitely, and the release is still a while away, so it’s not too surprising, but that means we don’t have much to go off right now.
In The Meantime, We Have Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown And Rogue
We have two years to wait for The Sands of Time remake, but for once, things aren’t dry out there for Prince of Persia fans.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft launched The Lost Crown, a 2D Metroidvania following the Prince’s bodyguard, which is even getting story DLC later this year.

Dead Cells developer Evil Empire also launched Rogue Prince of Persia- as the name suggests, it’s a roguelike spin on the series which uses the time-bending shenanigans to explain our Prince being stuck in a Groundhog Day-style loop as he fights back the invading Huns.
