Summary
Only a little more than a month afterPokemon’s Dragonite and Marill Squishmallows hit the Pokemon Center, the next duo joining the very exclusive plush line has been revealed. Teased via a post from Pokemon hyping the North America International Championships, and also spotted on the Pokemon Center website, the next twoPokemonjoining the Pokemon Squishmallow collection will be Fuecoco and Bellibolt.
Unlike the Dragonte and Marill Squishmallows, we’ve not needed to rely on rumors and leaks to find out Bellibolt and Fuecoco are the next Pokemon in line for the Squishmallow treatment. However, we will have to make do with only knowing what they look like from behind for the time being. Both the Championships teaser and the ad revealing their imminent arrival on the Pokemon Center website only showed the new arrivals from behind.
Neither teaser even mentions the Squishmallows by name. Just the images of them from behind with the confirmation that they’re coming soon on the Pokemon Center banner ad. It took Pokemon fans a matter of seconds to deduce who the new arrivals are, however, since Fuecoco is instantly recognizable from the crest on its head, and Bellibolt’s Squishmallow has the same lightning-shaped mark on its behind where you might find a tail on another Pokemon.
Fuecoco And Bellibolt Squishmallows Are Coming
As for predicting which Pokemon were going to be next to get Squishmallows, not many would have had money on Fuecoco and Bellibolt. Even though both of them are the perfect size and shape to be Squishmallows, they’re both from Gen Nine, the newest additions that were only introduced in 2022 viaScarlet & Violet. Not only are they the first Paldean Pokemon to get Squishmallows, but the newest Pokemon Squishmallow until now has been Gen Four’s Piplup.
Outside of Piplup, every single Squishmallow in Pokemon’s collection is from either Kanto or Johto. It was surprising that Gen Three was skipped entirely (for the time being), and now Jazwares and The Pokemon Company have leapfrogged to Gen Nine. Pricing and release date details for the new Squishmallows haven’t been revealed. However, it feels like the customary six-month wait between new Pokemon Squishmallow releases might be significantly shorter this time around.
