Summary

Pokemonsidestepped its regularly scheduled slate of Funko Popsto release a Cresselia figure at C2E2this year. It now looks set to do something similar during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, taking place at the end of July, as another rare Pokemon will seemingly be getting the Funko Pop treatment at the event. Cresselia and the many other Pokemon to have already been turned into Pops will be joined by Arceus, and a first look at the figure has already been shared online.

The Pop appears to havebeen gifted to Momoka Rageand the image has since beenshared by Funko Pop News. Like C2E2’s Cresseilia figure, the Aceus Pop is a jumbo one, standing at ten inches tall which makes it more than twice the size of a regular figure. Arceus is standing on all fours, not rising on its hind legs like it is in a lot of images you see of it, and its bigger head due to its Funko design really shines a spotlight on its eyes, although in Funko form they look more like a visor.

Again following in the footsteps of the Cresselia Pop, Arceus will be exclusive to the convention at which it’s released, so SDCC 2024 from July 25. That doesn’t mean there won’t be opportunities to buy it if you won’t be in San Diego that weekend, but it does mean it will be hard to find and expensive to buy after the fact.Cresselia’s Pop is on Amazon right now, but it will cost you $66 if you want to add it to your collection, and that appears to be a sale price reduced from almost $100.

On the one hand, making figures convention exclusives and therefore very hard to find and expensive to buy is incredibly frustrating for fans who want their collections to be complete. On the other hand, some Pokemon are harder to find regardless of the way in which you’re tasked with catching ‘em all. Some trading cards are rarer than others, certain Pokemon are harder to find in the games, and evenPokemon Gohas particular Pokemon locked to certain parts of the world. For Funko Pops, it’s mythical and legendary Pokemon being convention exclusives.
