New In-Game Look At Takeda In Mortal Kombat 1 Revealed

A brand-new look at Takeda Takahashi’s in-game design forMortal Kombat 1has been revealed, seemingly putting to rest the theories that he’s going to be much older this time around.

Even though itdoesn’t feel like it’s been that long since Mortal Kombat 1 released, we’re actually fast approaching the game’s one-year anniversary, andhave nearly seen every DLC character from the first Kombat Pack be released. There’s only one more fighter left to go,and NetherRealm has saved the absolute best for last- Takeda Takahashi fromMortal Kombat X.

Takeda has already been confirmed to be releasing on July 23 alongside the delayed Ferra Kameo, so we know for a fact that there’s not long to wait until we get to see him in action. While we’re still a month away from Takeda’s release and likely have a few weeks to go until a gameplay trailer is released, Warner Play Latino has just given us another look at the best Kombat Kid’s MK1 design.

Here’s What Takeda Will Look Like In Mortal Kombat 1

As pointed out by Twitter user RealmKast, the new look at Takeda Takahashi comes from Warner Play Latino, an official account seemingly linked to Warner Bros. that decided to randomly tweet out an image featuring Kenshi’s Mortal Kombat 1 render. As you can see from the image, he looks very similar to how he did in the Kombat Pack trailer, although there’s a key difference - his age.

When Takeda was first revealed,many fans pointed out how much older he looked in Mortal Kombat 1than he did in MKX, suggesting that he’s aged significantly in that time.This spawned a ton of theories that he’s actually a time traveller, but it seems that might not be the case as the render used in the image makes him look nearly as young as he previously did.

It’s previously been confirmed thatPerry Shen will be returning to voice Takeda,so don’t worry about it being another Homelander and Antony Starr situation.

Alongside sharing the render of Takeda, Warner Play Latino also referred to him as “Kenshi’s Son” in the caption,despite leaks suggesting that he’s actually Kenshi’s cousin in the new timeline. It’s not clear if this is a mistake on Warner Play Latino’s part or if the leaks were incorrect, but I’m betting that Takeda is only pretending to be Kenshi’s cousin to protect his identity. We’ll find out for sure in just a few weeks.
