Summary

MultiVersuscommunity manager Nakat has teased on Twitter that “something cool” could be happening after the NHL face-off event at the end of the week.

After nearly a whole year of silence, you’d think that last month’s MultiVersus re-reveal,which included a release date for the 1.0 version and several new characters and stages being teased, would have been the stuff of dreams for fans, but that wasn’t quite the case. Instead, everyone wasdisappointed by how little of the game we saw and how far away the May release date was.

Combine that with the fact that no new characters were shown off and that we haven’t had any news since the re-reveal, and it’s fair to say that fans have lost a bit of faith in MultiVersus. Well, it looks like it might be time to start getting excited about MultiVersus again, as a developer has teased that news is coming in the next few days.

MultiVersus' Community Manager Teases “Something Cool”

As pointed out by reliable MultiVersus insider multiversusie,Player First Games' community manager, AJAX, took to Twitter to hype up the NHL’s recently-announced crossover with MultiVersus, which takes place on April 14. Although most fans had written this crossover event off as yet another strange marketing move for the game, AJAX’s tweets suggest that it’s going to have some kind of news.

The first tease from Ajax had him retweeting the event and saying, “I hear the action will be hot! You will want to tune into this game”. Then, when asked by a fan if there will be anything there for MultiVersus fans or if it’ll just be for ice hockey fans,Ajax said that he had a “gut feeling something cool might happen”.

As much as I want to encourage getting excited, it’s worth remembering how let down some of us were by the re-reveal and its lack of new characters. Let’s keep expectations in check.

That might seem a little speculative and far too similar to all of the MultiVersus teases that have let us down over the past few years, but Ajax’s most recent tweets make it seem far more likely we’ll be getting something proper at the game. One fan tweeted that we “might be getting news at the game”,which caused Ajax to reply with the sideways eyes emoji.

What Could Be Announced After Sunday’s NHL Game?

Ajax’s tweets certainly hint atsomethinghappening after the game and some kind of news being shared, but as for what it could be it’s really not clear. Some fans think that an ice hockey mode is going to be announced for MultiVersus, while others are suggesting that a brand-new character could be announced there.

We’ll have to wait until April 14 to find out for sure, but I’m placing my bets on the next new character coming to the game, which is almost definitely Joker, finally being confirmed in a few days time.
