Summary

MutliVersusrecently revealed that Banana Guard is the game’s second new character coming to the game following the relaunch, but the reception has been a little more mixed this time around.

MultiVersus' big relaunch is less than two weeks away, and developer Player First has started rolling out information about the new additions to the game to get everyone nice and pumped. We’ve had loads of details about the game itself, includingnew modes and moves, and it was also recently revealed thatThe Joker will be included in the relaunch.

There has been intense speculation surrounding these two other mystery characters, and several banana-themed teases over the past few days had players guessing everyone from Beetlejuice to Barbie. MultiVersus finally lifted the lid earlier today to reveal that the second new character joining The Joker on launch is the Banana Guard from Adventure Time, a rather left-field pick that isn’t veryapeelingto fans, it seems.

Banana Guard Is Splitting The MultiVersus Community

There are currently two reactions to Banana Guard’s inclusion floating around social media at the moment, one of disappointment, and the other of pure, unbridled joy. We’ll start with the Debbie downers, as you’ll find more than a few people on Reddit and Twitter calling Banana Guard a “wasted slot”, and they don’t seem to be too pleased about MultiVersus including a “joke character” in the relaunch considering how the game went offline in the first place.

On the other hand, you have people that are absolutely delighted about Banana Guard’s inclusion, including the"BananaGuard4MVS" Twitter account, which is pretty ecstatic about the whole thing. You have some people that havealready made hype reels for the character, possibly somewhat ironically, andothers that are just enjoying the silly side of things. This is a game where Shaggy from Scooby-Doo can throw a giant sandwich at Arya Stark from Game of Thrones after all.

Wherever you stand in Banana Guard Gate, the MultiVersus Twitter account has been quick to point out that Player Firstisn’t quite done with the character reveals just yet, so we could very well see a fan favorite pick join the roster before launch.
