Summary
Formost of gaming’s history, lead characters tended to be straight white men, to the point that it was often a big deal when they weren’t. As it turns out, the industry was unnecessarily shackling themselves – not only by avoiding a whole spectrum of interesting characterizations – but by holding back beings of unbridled power!
These characters are not only powerful enough to take down street thugs, cities, or even the whole galaxy, they’re also strong enough to be themselves. To love who they want to love, and be their true selves. These are the most powerful LGBTQ+ characters in gaming.

8The Courier - Fallout New Vegas
Bisexuality Is Overpowered In New Vegas
You could make a decent argument for most main characters in an RPG here, including the ones from Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate 3, or the protagonists of the other Fallout games. But our unlucky mailman from Fallout New Vegas is the only one given powers by their bisexuality.
Regardless of their gender, with two Perks, the Courier becomes ten percent more lethal, and more attractive, to every person in the Mojave. For male Couriers, there’s Lady Killer and Confirmed Bachelor, while female Couriers have Black Widow and Cherchez la Femme. Choosing both allows you to gain a boost when flirting and fighting with both men and women.

7Dion Lesage - Final Fantasy 16
This Gay Icon Can Reduce Cities To Rubble
Even without being the Dominant of Bahamut, Eikon of Light, Dion Lesage is a force to be reckoned with. He’s a military prodigy and the founder and head of the Dragoons, a force of elite soldiers known for jumping into the sky and landing spear-first with devastating effectiveness.
With the powers of Bahamut, however, his power is something else entirely; able to reduce whole cities to rubble and rout whole armies. He’s even able to fight the dread Odin into stalemate regularly, who can slice apart mountains and cut new trenches into the ocean. Dion Lesage harbors an undying love and loyalty to his nation, matched only by his feelings for his partner and second-in-command, Terence, and is more formidable for it.

6Testament - Guilty Gear Series
An Immortal Non-Binary Being Of Inhuman Strength
Testament is a being who has transcended humanity and, as such, the notion of gender. And that was before they were made into one of the Gears, powerful beings from which the series derives its name.
As a Gear, they are infused with Gear Cells which allow them to tap into the theoretically limitless energy of the Backyard. This gives them immortality, inhuman strength and toughness, and a rapid healing factor.Testament is also a skilled combatant, powerful magician, and is able to bend time and space to their will. They also employ familiars who are powerful in their own right, namely Succubus and the dread EXE Beast.

5Cagliostro - Granblue Fantasy
Underestimate This Adorable Trans Woman At Your Peril
An ancient and skilled Alchemist who indeed invented the school of magic herself, Cagliostro is not one to be trifled with. With skills only surpassed by her cuteness and extreme narcissism, it would be folly to underestimate her, which is something she encourages.
But do so at your peril, since she is not only millennia old but she defeated the enigmatic and powerful Astrals who tried to bend her to their will. Even defeat would mean little to her, since she can transfer her soul to a new (possibly even cuter) body seemingly at will. A more likely scenario would be her foes torn asunder by Alchemically-summoned implements before being encased in a gold statue of her adorable likeness.

4Deadpool - Midnight Suns, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Marvel Comics
The Chaotic Pansexual Merc With A Mouth
Wade Wilson is better known as Deadpool, a chaotic pansexual merc for hire. With his twin katanas and dual pistols, he can drop mooks and droves and even cause some Marvel heavyweights to pause. His healing factor is comparable to Wolverine’s, making him virtually impossible to kill, and he even has a convenient belt that allows him to teleport at will, making him even harder to pin down.
He’s also aware that he’s a fictional character and is constantly playing with the fourth wall when he isn’t outright just breaking it. Speaking of breaking, he might just break your life bar over your own head in a tussle, doing existential damage on top of the physical.

3Maya - Borderlands Series
An Asexual Siren With Supernatural Gifts
The Siren class of Borderlands 2, Maya is one of six (maybe seven) Sirens in the universe, endowed with powerful supernatural gifts. Hers is the Phaselock, which allows her to bind enemies in place by locking them in another dimension, where she could burn, melt, and or tase them to death. She’s also competent in hand-to-hand combat and is skilled with an assortment of corporately-branded firearms, with a preference for SMGs.
Whether out of distaste or a lack of understanding, she doesn’t share her teammates' bawdy sense of humor. Though she’s asexual, she might not be aromantic and, at the very least, she’s especially fond of Krieg.

2Zagreus - Hades
The Bisexual, Polyamorous God Of… Something
Zagreus is a god, the same as his father or any denizen of Mt. Olympus, though the god of what, even he doesn’t know. He speculates that he might be the god of blood, perhaps because of his skill with the Titan-slaying Infernal Arms. But he might well be the god of friendship, given how easily he makes friends and turns their keepsakes into sources of power.
Or, he could be the god of rizz, given that he managed to romance both Megaera and Thanatos, as well as spark a deep, abiding (if platonic) friendship with Dusa. Whatever realm he governs, it’s clear that he’s a supernaturally competent combatant, even without the aid of his divine kin and a whirlwind of death with their blessings by his side.

1Juhani - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
The Lesbian Breaking Taboos And Wielding A Lightsaber
As a member ofthe Jedi Order, Juhani can potentially access a dizzying array of Force abilities that put Jedi (or Sith) more than a few cuts above your average combatant.
If you didn’t know that Juhaniis a lesbian, it’s likely because at the time of KOTOR’s release, homosexual characters were de facto taboo and the devs had to tread lightly. So she’s not only a kickass Jedi but a groundbreaking character as well.
In addition to her Lightsaber training, she’s mastered force techniques that give her supernatural speed, allow her to stun or telekinetically toss enemies, and the exceptionally deadly technique of throwing her lit Lightsaber at hapless foes. She’s also dabbled in the Dark side, and as such, can also electrocute or telekinetically choke foes to death.
