Summary

Mortal Kombat 1just revealed that Homelander will join the roster on June 4 in early access. Ferra, the newest kameo, will launch afterwards later that same month.

In the new gameplay trailer, we see the leader of The Seven hovering mid-air, throwing punches, blasting his opponent with heat vision, effortlessly blocking attacks, and melting internal organs with his X-Ray. He looks a lot like Superman fromInjustice 2, just a smidge more violent. Fitting, eh?

Homelander isn’t voiced by Antony Starr, but the likeness is spot on. So much so thatfans are already getting over it.

The three-minute clip ends withone of Homelander’s fatalities- he flies his opponent into the sky and launches them in front of a plane. He then peels him off the front like a bug on a windscreen and lets go right in front of the left engine. It cuts away abruptly after the other fighter is turned into soup, but it’s probably safe to assume that the plane crashes, referencing one of his most iconic moments in the show.

Ferra Joins The Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo Roster Next Month

Not only do we see Homelander in action in this trailer, but we also get a glimpse at Ferra, one-half of the MKX duo. In the hit 2015 game, the pair work in tandem as one character, with Ferra riding Torr’s back to essentially pilot him, using the big brute to take down opponents much larger than herself.

As a kameo in MK1, she can do that with other characters like Homelander. We see her yanking him away to dodge attacks, being used as a weapon herself - swung into opponents like a sack of bricks - leap off Homelander’s back to do a spin attack, and dive directly into the other fighter to stab them in the chest.

The trailer also shows us her fatality. She runs up to the opponent and drags her knife through their chest, over their head, and down their back, slicing them in half.
