Summary
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eatermight not launch this year after all, as it appears that the remake has been delayed into next year.
This is according to a report fromDealabs, which says that a “global distribution giant” is listing the Snake Eater remake as a 2025 release. This would contradictmessaging from Sony earlier this year, which listed the game as part of its 2024 line-up.

Placeholder Date Puts The Snake Eater Remake As A 2025 Release
Dealabs reports that they got this information from an unnamed distributor, who has started listing a release date for the game. This date is June 28, 2025, but it is unlikely that this is the exact date, as this is a commonly used placeholder. However, since the placeholder uses the year 2025, not 2024, it’s possible that this means it won’t be released this year at all.
Admittedly, we never had hard proof that it would be with us this year. Outside of the tease fromPlayStationthat hinted at a 2024 release,Konamihasn’t given us an actual release window. Dealabs also notes that this doesn’t completely confirm the delay speculation, and that they haven’t been able to find another source listing a release date.
With that said, we’re now approaching showcase season, so it’s possible that we’ll get a new trailer that confirms this one way or the other soon enough. Dealabs predicts as much, suggesting that we’ll get an official update “within the next 10 days”. They predict that pre-orders will go live then too, and even claim to already know the pricing of the different editions of the game. As per their report:
That’s a particularly high price for the collector’s edition, so we’ll have to see what it includes to justify that cost. Presumably, it will come packaged with some physical goodies, not just in-game exclusives.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. We don’t have a set release date just yet.
