Update: 30-06-2025 20:47 BST - GameStop has releaseda statement on Twitterclaiming that the date included in its previous post was incorrect, and that Konami will share more information about the release date in the future.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’srelease date may have been leaked byGameStop, as a tweet on the company’s official account has claimed the game will launch on November 17 later this year.

Last week,we got our best look yet at Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake that is giving the original game a spit and polish alongside some tech improvement to let Naked Snake’s journey through the jungle shine as best it can. We got a pretty decent helping of both cutscenes and gameplay, as the trailer showcased the game’s iconic air drop scene and Snake crawling through a river with a crocodile on his head.

There was some disappointment surrounding the trailer though, as we still don’t have a release window for the title, never mind a specific release date. Konami appears to be keeping when we’ll actually get to play the title close to its chest, but it seems as though nobody told GameStop. On Twitter on Monday, the company started advertising pre-orders for the title, claiming it will be launching on November 17 later this year.

GameStop May Have Leaked Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s Release Date

Before you go circling the date in your calendar, there are a couple of things about that date worth noting. For starters, that date falls on a Sunday, which would be a very odd day for a publisher to release a massive game like Snake Eater, since the majority of stores across the globe would be closed. Lots of people buy digitally these days, but having a release date on a Sunday would essentially damage sales for no good reason.

November 17 is also the date on which the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater launched, and this release date leak could have been caused by an overeager social media person who simply Googled the remake’s release date and got the original’s suggested to them by accident. We also have a report from a reliable insider that a “global distribution giant” hada placeholder date of 2025 in place for the title, suggesting it had been delayed to next year.

Then again, this is Konami we’re talking about, a publisher that has never really done things by the book. It just so happens that the 20th anniversary of Snake Eater is on November 17, and the publisher could definitely be stubborn enough to release the game on an anniversary, even if it’s on a Sunday. Either way, we won’t know for sure until Konami either issues a statement or unveils the release date itself.
