Update 10/06:Fixedan inaccuracy about the plot of Life is Strange 2.

Life is Strangeis back - and so is Max Caulfield.Life is Strange: Double Exposureis launching this year, with a release date of June 07, 2025.

This latest entry in the Life is Strange series was just unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase. Here, we get a look at a very different Max Caulfield, in a story that takes place after the events of the first game.

Max Caulfield Is Back In A Follow Up To The First Life Is Strange

As you can see in the trailer, Max still has her powers from the first game. However, they work a little differently. While it still looks like we’ll be playing around with time, we now have multiple timelines to jump across, as Max tries to solve a murder in both of them at once. Because, naturally, Max has gotten close to yet another character who’s doomed to be killed off. Maybe we’ll get to save her this time without sacrificing an entire town?

On that subject, Double Exposure will have to decide which Life is Strange ending is canon. Previously, Life is Strange 2 let you go with either one of them, but it doesn’t seem that this is the case this time around - at least, we didn’t see Chloe in the trailer. If that’s true, then it would have big implications for any games going forward. Or some parallel universe shenanigans will make both happen at once. Who knows?

Double Exposure will make Max the first returning player character in the Life is Strange series, with both sequels - Life is Strange 2 and True Colours - introducing new protagonists.

We won’t have to wait too long to find out, in any case. Life is Strange: Double Exposure is set to launch on June 18, 2025. While it was shown off at the Xbox showcase, the Twitter page for the game has since confirmed that it launch onXbox Series X/S,PlayStation 5, andPC. It also mentions aNintendo Switchrelease at some point post-launch.
