Summary
Last year,a ransomware group hacked into Insomniac and stole 1.6 terabytes of data, leaking it online after a failed attempt to blackmail Sony. That was six months ago, but because of the enormous size of the breach, people are still digging through the files.
Only two days ago,dataminers uncovered our first look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, complete with pictures of a new hero called Silk. We now have our first look at her in action as she swings through New York City.

At the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker retires andMiles Morales meets Cindy Moonwhen it’s revealed that their parents are dating.
For context, she’s a hero in the comics who gets her powers from the same spider that bit Peter. Thankfully, we’re skipping the whole pheromones arc and suit made out of webs fiasco.
Her costume is far more reminiscent of her modern redesign, with a black and white suit and red face mask. It’s clearly unfinished (she has a mask under her mask), as is the game itself, because Spider-Man 3 is barely in development right now.
Regardless, it’s an interesting glimpse into what we can expect, specifically a new playable Spider. Maybe this time we’ll bounce between Cindy and Miles as Peter gets to finally live a normal life. We’ll just have to wait and see how long it lasts.
When Does Spider-Man 3 Release?
Insomniac hasn’t put a date on Spider-Man 3 yet, butthe hacked files revealed a roadmap for its upcoming slateleading all the way up to 2032.
AVenom spin-offis reportedly launching in 2025, followed by the Wolverine game in 2026. If the roadmap is still accurate (it could have changed internally by now), then Spider-Man 3 is set to launch in 2028.
We’ve got a ways to go and Insomniac is busy with other projects, so this footage is hardly representative of the final game. Of course, that hasn’t stopped people from saying an unfinished game looks unfinished.
