Summary
BothPlayStationandXboxhave outlined what they’ve got planned for the rest of 2024 - and beyond for the latter - and next up it’ll beNintendo’s turn. The studio has promised a Direct this month which will detail what it has planned for the rest of the year. Until then, or at least right now, you can pick up some of the Switch’s biggest games to date for a lot less at Best Buy as two of its best-sellers are among many more currently available for a lot less.
The two best sellers on sale at Best Buy are the two games that have been discounted the most as far as I can tell.Mario Kart 8 DeluxeandThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, both games that were $60 when released and have been ever since, are on sale for $39.99 each. Occupying the first and fourth spots in the Switch all-time best-selling list respectively, the games have sold more than 90 million copies combined and will shift a few more while they’re available for less.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
WHERE TO PLAY
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a racing game in the world-renowned racing game series. The game was released in 2017 for Nintendo Switch and was at the time the first Mario game on the platform. It is an improved version of the Wii U game Mario Kart 8. It comes with added characters and changes in Battle Mode.
Also on sale for $40, down from its usual $60, is the game in the number five spot on that list, right behind Breath of the Wild,Super Mario Odyssey. Odyseey has been on sale a lot recently althoughthis is the lowest I have seen it on sale for so far. As for why it has taken seven years for Odyssey to start getting price cuts, Mario’s most recent original 3D adventure remains the highest-rated Switch game of all time, sitting on a staggering 97 on OpenCritic.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sets Link his toughest challenge yet. With free exploration of a huge open world and a story you can complete in your own order, it is a must-play for the Nintendo Switch.
Since the three games mentioned so far have all sold well north of 20 million copies each, it’s highly likely you already own them all. If you’re aiming to plug gaps in your Switch library as Nintendo prepares to announce its successor, Best Buy has other options on sale that aren’t among the Switch’s juggernauts.Kirby and The Forgotten Land is down to $44.99,Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is $39.99, and while only $5 cheaper than usual,Pokemon Legends: Arceus, arguably the Switch’s best Pokemon game, is also on sale.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Visit the ancient region of Hisui, the predecessor to Sinnoh, and help create the first Pokedex. Pokemon Legends: Arceus introduces a more action role-playing, open-world style of gameplay.
Even though excitement is building for whatever will follow the Switch when it comes to Nintendo’s hardware, I think there’s a big six months still to come for its current console. Sure, the first half of 2024 has been quieter than usual for Nintendo, but between The Thousand-Year Door,Princess Peach: Showtime, andLuigi’s Mansion 2 HDstill to come, we’ve still been treated to more first-party games on Switch during its down period than other platforms publish during their busier periods.
