Summary

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop’s first trailer is finally here, giving us a September release date and more details on the remaster. In the trailer, it’s also confirmed that there will be two different violence options to choose from, with one of them making the brutality on screen much more cartoon-like.

Players will be able to choose the “Original” mode if they want something more in line with the 2012 release. However, the trailer gives us a look at the “RePop” mode, giving us a taste of the changes the devs have made for the remaster.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop Finally Gets A Trailer

The trailer opens with a message from developer Dragami Games, explaining why the trailer might look a little less violent than you expected. It says that the trailer was filmed using the new “RePop mode”, which has “less violence” and “uses pop-art damage effects”.

The trailer gives us a look at the gameplay in action, as well as some of the cutscenes. As we can see, it’s not a huge change in art style or aesthetics, just giving the game some polish all these years later.

Most importantly, the trailer finally gives us a release date: June 03, 2025. The devs add that this is a digital release date, suggesting there will be no physical copies at launch, but leaving the door open for a physical run at a later date.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop wasoriginally set to launch at some point last yearbutwas delayed. The delay at least confirmed the name, RePop, so we’re not just calling it the Lollipop Chainsaw Remaster like we were for a while. It was announced in 2022 - the tenth anniversary of the original game - and was originally pitched as a full-blown remake. However, the devs instead opted for something more faithful to the original.

Barring any further delays, Lollipop Chainsaw RePop will launch on September 25 and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
