Summary

The Live Service Gaming Summit, which is the first cross-platform industry conference focusing on the development of player experiences, is coming to London from September 9 to September 11.

The gaming industry has a ton of special events, fromGDCandGamescomtoSummer Game FestandEGX, but, until now, there hasn’t been one that focuses on what has become one of the most important elements of modern gaming - live-services. As the popularity of titles likeWarzone,Fortnite, andHelldivers 2have proven, live-service games are here to stay and look like they’ll only keep growing.

With live service gaming set to keep being a cornerstone of the industry and with more players than ever diving into expansive games that continue to be added to, there’s no better time than now for an event dedicated to the genre. That’s where the inaugural Live Service Gaming Summit comes in, which will be taking place from September 9 to September 11 in London at the Regents Park Marriott Hotel.

Live Service Gaming Summit will feature 50 expert speakers, including developers from studios like Arrowhead, Tencent, Ubisoft, Rovio Entertainment, Take-Two Interactive, and Criterion, just to name a few. The event will allow attendees to come together with publishers, developers, and tech innovators to gain insight into live-service practices across console, PC, and mobile.

“As the industry is evolving, it is great to have a summit where multiple developers and publishers can share their experience in order to learn from one another to make sure we elevate our medium.”

The event will be split across three days and feature presentations from some of the developers involved in the biggest ongoing live service games. For example,on day one, Linda Tiger, the chief operating officer for Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studio, will delve into how the team managed to build a “thriving live service”.

Meanwhile,on day two, Mohammed Benhenneda (business strategy and live performance director for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege) will deliver a presentation on sustained growth in dynamic environments. There are several other live service-focused presentations and workshops throughout the two days, but you may check out the event’s full agenda here to see what else is on.
