Summary

Little Nightmares 3won’t launch this year after all, with the developers announcing that it’s been delayed into next year. Now a 2025 release, developerSupermassive Gamessays the delay is to ensure that the sequel gets the “care and love it deserves”.

The devs also promise more news this summer, so we can expect another trailer sometime soon. It just seems that Supermassive is adjusting expectations going into showcase season, as many fans would have been expecting a release date reveal, sinceLittle Nightmares 3 was initially scheduled for some time in 2024.

Little Nightmares 3 Is Missing Its 2024 Release Date

“The teams at Supermassive Games andBandai Namco Europehave been working hard towards delivering the best experience possible for the next entry in the franchise,” reads a statement on the delay.

“As much as we can’t wait for you to return to the Nowhere, we also want to verify we give the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us, and we know you feel the same way,” it continues. “For this reason, we’ve made the decision to shift the release of the game to 2025.”

Admittedly, we didn’t have a set release date prior to this delay, just the promise that it would be with us at some point this year. Now, with that pushed back into 2025, we still don’t know when exactly Little Nightmares 3 will be with us. It’s possible that this release date will be included in the news that the devs promise this summer.

When it does launch, Little Nightmares 3 will be the first game in the series to include co-op play. However, this is limited to online multiplayer, with no couch co-op. We probably shouldn’t expect the delay to be used to add this in either, as game director Wayne Garland feels this would go against the “atmosphere and immersion” of Little Nightmares 3.
