Summary
Yakuzawill celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, and you have to think RGG Studio will have something special lined up to mark the occasion. For the longest time, liking Yakuza games felt like something of a niche interest. That is no longer the case and its newest game,Infinite Wealthhas a strong chance of being among the Game of the Year contenders come the end of 2024. If you want to know what all the fuss is about for less, Infinite Wealth is currently on sale onSteam.
Despite only being three months old, and likely not struggling to sell in that time, Steam has cut the price of the newest Yakuza game by 30 percent, bringing it down to just $48.99. With its own (non-official) takes onAnimal CrossingandPokemonas optional side content, that’s less than $50 for more than 100 hours of gaming if you want to spend that long in Infinite Wealth’s world.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
WHERE TO PLAY
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth continues the story of Ichiban Kasuga, in the ninth mainline entry in the series formerly known as Yakuza. It will once again feature turn-based combat, and takes our protagonist outside of Japan for the first time.
Despite Like A Dragon’s boom in popularity in recent years, figuring out where to start if you’ve never played a Yakuza game before can be tricky. When you discover Infinite Wealth is technically the eighth game in the series, and that’s not including spinoffs, your want to try it out likely dissipates fast. Steam’s Like A Dragon sale has a solution for that.Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the game that began the name change, is also on sale, and it’s the perfect jumping-on point for anyone who wants to play Like A Dragon but doesn’t want to go all the way back to the very beginning.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Yakuza: Like a Dragon, known internationally as Yakuza 7, introduces a new cast of characters and an entirely new battle system. It also marked the first time a Yakuza game was available with both the original Japanese cast, and a localized English version.
Like A Dragon has been heavily discounted, available for just $11.99. Worth the price of entry even if you have some fun with it but ultimately decided the Yakuza games aren’t for you. If you do decide you like it before Steam’s Like A Dragon sale ends, The Man Who Erased His Name, the spinoff game released between Like A Dragon and Infinite Wealth, is also on sale, available for just $29.99 despite only being released towards the end of 2023.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name aims to bridge the classic Yakuza series starring Kazuma Kiryu and the Ichiban-focused Like a Dragon continuation. It follows Kiryu as he lives in hiding, and maintains the action-adventure gameplay of its predecessors.
The trilogy above is perfect for anyone who hasn’t played a single Like A Dragon game before, or they’re great offers if you have played older Yakuza games and want to continue your journey. It’s been a busy year already for high price games and if you’re like me, a few $70 options like Infinite Wealth may have fallen by the wayside in favor of other titles. Now you can grab it for less and find out why some have labeled it the best Yakuza game to date. I still think that title belongs toYakuza 0 which is also on sale on Steam.
