Summary

The Lego Star Wars reveals have been coming our way at hyperspeed throughout the first half of 2024 as this year marks a quarter of a century since elements from a galaxy far, far away were first turned intoLegosets. After a flurry of new sets to celebrate Star Wars Day, Lego took a little break, but now it’s on the cusp of getting right back on the Tauntaun. Images of a Dark Millennium Falcon set have found their way onto social media, and the sizableStar Warsset will be available to buy through the Lego Store from August 1.

Not only has a Dark Millennium Falcon set been rumored for a while, but it seemed almost inevitable that we’d be getting one when Disney debuted the first trailer for Lego Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy. Effectively Star Wars' answer toMarvel’s What If, the four-part mini-series will take place in a Lego version of the Star Wars galaxy where everything has been taken apart and reassembled, creating a very different galaxy to the one we’ve known for the past 50 years.

Our first look at the Dark Millennium Falcon comes at the end of the trailer as Darth Jar Jar emerges from it, threatening to hurt the show’s heroes. The evil Jar Jar, complete with a Darth Maul-style double-bladed lightsaber, is one of six new Minifigures that will be included with the new set. Also in there is a Jedi version of Darth Vader whose armor is a bright white instead of black, and Beach Luke who appears to be a more laidback version of Skywalker who is neither a Jedi nor a Sith. I guess we’ll find out when Rebuild The Galaxy debuts on September 13.

Darth Jar Jar’s Real, He Can Hurt You

The Dark Millennium Falcon set will cost $179.99 and be made up of 1,578 pieces, making it the biggest and most expensive Star Wars set so far in its 25th anniversary Lego year.According to Bricks Up, there’s a lot more still to come soon. The Lego fansite reported last month that there could be as many as nine new Star Wars sets going on sale on August 1. Odds are some of them will give us a better look at ships and characters from the upcoming miniseries.

Lego Star Wars fans have already been spoiled this year with multiple new sets includinga smaller Millennium Falcon buildandan Imperial Star Destroyer set, the biggest of the year so far until the Dark Millennium Falcon is revealed. The Star Destroyer set comes with a Cal Kestis Minifigure, the first time the Jedi has ever been immortalized in Lego, and like other sets this year, it’s possible the Dark Millennium Falcon also comes with an anniversary character unrelated to the show from which it has been pulled from.
