Summary
It’s almost May 4 again and the efforts to celebrateStar Wars Dayhave seriously been ramped up this year for two reasons. The annual celebration coincides with the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace’s cinematic release, and also the creation ofLego’s first Star Wars set. Lego isn’t letting that milestone pass by uncelebrated, and one of the many ways it is marking the occasion is bygiving away three Star Wars setsto its customers across May 4 weekend.
You can effectively unlock the sets depending on how much you spend on Star Wars sets at Lego between now and May 5.An AAT setwhen you spend $40 or more on Lego Star Wars products,a Battle of Yavin collectiblewhen you spend $90, anda Trade Federation Troop Carrier setif the items in your basket come to $160 or more, provided there’s something in there you’re paying for that’s Star Wars-themed.
It’s not a case of qualifying for a more expensive free gift and having to forfeit the other either. If you spend more than $160 in a single transaction and there are Star Wars items in your cart, then all three free gifts should be added to your haul. The only caveat isyou will need to be a Lego Insiderto qualify for the Battle of Yavin gift. The other two sets being given away for free through the rest of the week are available to anyone buying stuff on the Lego store, members or not.
Free Lego Sets For Star Wars Day
As for what exactly it is you’ll be getting if you’re unfamiliar with the free gifts, the AAT is a small 75-piece set modeled after the laser turrets seen in The Phantom Menace. A perfect smaller build to accompany your other Star Wars sets. Also pulled from Episode One, the Troop Carrier set is 262 pieces and instantly recognizable to anyone who has seen the movie. It even includes two pilot droids to sit up front, and six more battle droids loaded in the back, ready to fight at a moment’s notice.
The Battle of Yavin collectible is a little different, not only because it’s the only free gift that isn’t a set inspired by The Phantom Menace, but because it isn’t technically a set at all. It’s a collectible coin with the moment Luke Skywalker fires the shot that blows up the Death Star etched onto it. One of the most iconic moments in movie history, Star Wars or otherwise. All three free gifts are available now and will remain free to Lego Star Wars customers until May 5. That means you will get them with any of the new Lego Star Wars, including the TIE Interceptor, that will be released on May 4.
