Summary

Kingdom Heartsfinally launched on PC three years ago via Epic Games Store, but with so many players preferring Steam, the fanfare forits launch on Valve’s platformhas been even bigger.

But it’s not just a new storefront that we can expect on June 13 - this port comes complete with remastered textures. In the video embedded below, you can see the before and after on some of the background details, showing just how crisp and clear they are compared to before.

This update will also come to EGS, so it’s not a Steam exclusive.

Kingdom Hearts fans will also receive a unique keyblade called “Dead of Night” if they purchase the collection on Steam. It isn’t a crowbar, but something tells me plopping a headcrab on Sora’s head wouldn’t fit the whole family-friendly Disney vibe.

Melody Of Memory Isn’t Coming To Steam

Strangely, one game is absent from the Steam version of the collection- Melody of Memory, the Kairi-focused rhythm spin-off.

In the announcement, Square Enix only mentioned 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3, notably missing Melody of Memory.

Fans are hoping that it means an upgraded version is on the way, especially as it sets upKingdom Hearts 4and ties in to 3’s ReMind DLC, but there’s no official word on why it’s been left out.

If you want the complete story, you’ll need to pick it up on EGS for now.

Steam

Owned by Valve, Steam is a digital storefront and library for PC games. With many sales, updates, account functionality, and compatibility with many different platforms — as well as streaming options and its own Steam Deck handheld - it remains one of the biggest storefronts for PC gamers.
