Summary
Kingdom Hearts 4could have online features, and is said to look “very different” from its reveal trailer. It could also launch onNintendo’s next console, often referred to as the Switch 2, along with ports of the other Kingdom Hearts games.
This all comes to us courtesy of reliable leaker Midori, who has just shared some details onSquare Enix’s strategy going forward. She doesn’t go into detail about what these online features could look like, but does add that they will be “small”, so the game probably won’t be fully multiplayer.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Details Shared By Leaker
Midori says that her source had previously told her aboutthe Kingdom Hearts Steam ports, but she didn’t share these details as she wasn’t sure if they were legitimate. However, now that they have been formally announced, she’s now sharing the other bits of information the source provided, potentially giving us some insight into Kingdom Hearts 4’s development.
On top of the idea that it could have some kind of online functionality and launch on the Switch 2, she also reveals that it’s codenamed Quattro.
She adds that it looks “very different” from its reveal trailer, which isn’t too surprising, since we’re yet to see any gameplay. It’s unclear how far along in development the game was when we saw it too, so it’s possible that it’s come a long way since 2022.
This isn’t the only Kingdom Hearts-related leak we got today. As we reported earlier, Midori also claimed thatKingdom Hearts is coming to Fortnite. She didn’t give us a date, but this would make sense, given thatDisney and Epic Games entered a $1.5 billion partnershipearlier this year. It would also be a great event to tie into the Steam releases of the previous Kingdom Hearts games, which is set for June 13.
While we wait to see if any of these rumours pan out, we alsoapparently have a Kingdom Hearts movie to look forward to. If these leaks turn out to be legitimate, then it’s going to be a huge year for the fanbase.
