Summary

Kingdom Hearts 4will launch next year, according to entertainment leaker Daniel Richtman. This would almost definitely guarantee another trailer this summer, which would be the first major update since the game’s reveal more than two years ago.

While Richtman often leaks details on TV and film, this comes just days after he also claimed that aKingdom Hearts adaptation was in the works. He hasn’t given us any indication that the two are related, so it’s not clear how this supposed project would adapt the game series.

Richtman’s latest leak comes viaPatreon, and was shared in the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit.

Kingdom Hearts 4 Could Launch Sooner Than We Thought

This would be a relatively quick turnaround, given that fans had to wait six years between the reveal and release ofKingdom Hearts 3. With that in mind, it seems that few were expecting a 2025 release date for the sequel to be thrown around, even if it’s just a rumour at this stage.

Still, this would go a long way in making up for the drought of content fans have put up with since Kingdom Hearts 4’s announcement in 2022. As we reported earlier this month,we’ve officially crossed over the two-year marksince the first trailer, and we don’t have much more to show for it.

Even if this release date rumour turns out to be bogus, there’s a good chance we’ll see something this summer, given how long it’s been. And of course, if the rumourisaccurate, then it’s all but guaranteed, asSquare Enixmight have just a matter of months to promote the game ahead of its launch. Not that it will need much of a push, given how fans have been left starving for so long.

Oddly enough, the first track from the game - Reality in the Dark - wasreleased last year, but no news on the game came with it. In fact, we went the whole year without much to say, so whatever the case, fans will be hoping for more luck in 2024.
