Summary

One of the bigger stories in video games so far in 2024 has beenXboxporting some of its exclusives to other platforms.Sea Of Thieves,Hi-Fi Rush, andGroundedare now available to play on other consoles, and now it seems Xbox is getting aPlayStationexclusive in return.Kena: Bridge Of Spirits, which has only been available on PlayStation since its release in 2021, at least when it comes to consoles, will finally be available to play on Xbox from August 15.

Kena Is Coming To Xbox

Kena coming to Xbox isn’t quite the same as the Xbox exclusives mentioned above finding their way onto PlayStation because Ember Lab, Kena’s developer, isn’t a PlayStation-owned studio. It’s simply a timed console exclusive, much in the same way asFinal Fantasygames are. That being said, I wouldn’t hold out hope forFinal Fantasy 16andFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthfollowing Kena onto Xbox anytime soon. At leastFinal Fantasy 14found its way ontoSeries X|Sin time for Dawntrail.

Back to Kena, and for those of you who missed the boat when it launched in 2021, the game follows protagonist Kena in her quest to help the dead move on from her mortal realm and onto the spirit world. It’s a lot happier and more light-hearted than it sounds, especially when chubby little creatures called Rots accompany you on your journey and help out from time to time. It’s a lot like a Pixar movie you can play through except it doesn’t have anything to do with Disney.

Little Pirate Hats For Your Xbox Rots

Speaking of Rots, the Xbox version of Kena includes pirate hats for them that can’t be found on any other platform. There’s also a Golden Rot skin and a staff for Kena that PlayStation andPCplayers don’t have. The digital launch of Kena on Xbox will be accompanied by a physical premium edition. Pre-orders for the premium edition will begin soon and will come with the exclusive in-game items mentioned above as well as a sticker sheet and a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack.

Kena has been rumored to be getting an Xbox port since a rating for the game on the platform surfaced in April. Now it’s official and Xbox owners will finally be able to play through what I consider to be a severely underrated PlayStation exclusive. Perhaps the Xbox port will lead to a potential sequel, and at the very least I’d expect to see this game rock up on the Switch 2 next year. There’s no mention of whether Kena will be on Game Pass day one or in the future.
