When high school versions of Geto and Gojo along with Toji join the game, there will also be an added “Scenario” covering the events of the first part of Season 2 ofJujutsu Kaisen’s anime.

The first part of Season 2 was titled Hidden Inventory/Premature Death, and it explored the early friendship between Gojo and Geto. It also introduced Toji and his relationship with the world. Beyond that, playable versions of Mai Zen’in and Momo Nishimiya will be available to players for free. It’s part of alarger free updatethat will also add two maps, some additional costumes and added co-op enemies.

What sticks out is that enemy versions of high school Gojo and Geto as well as Toji will be part of that free version for the co-op mode. In other words, even if you don’t buy the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death DLC pack, you’ll still get a chance to match up against them for free.

Mai and Momo are the first two of what looks to be five total free DLC characters. The trailer has three blank character slots after Mai and Momo, so it looks like players will have even more free content on the way.

It remains to be seenwho those characters will be, but if we had to guess, Choso and Mechamaru seem like safe bets. They’re both heavily involved in the plot of Season 2. More so, given that the DLC is bringing the game up to speed with the anime, then they both would make sense.

The trailer ends with a tease for DLC based on the second half of Season 2, the infamous Shibuya Incident. There are no other details, but based off what’s included in the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death DLC, additional scenarios, characters and customizations for the arc seem likely.

Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clashsports a 44 on Metacritic with a 4.1 user score. Many criticized the game as being a half-baked entry in a sea of similar feeling anime games. Its lack of content at launch was also criticized. To that point, Jujutsu Kaisen had just one completed anime season and a movie.

A few months later and it looks like Bandai Namco is trying to turn things around. The paid DLC will certainly flesh out the story of the manga, while the free characters will boost the roster. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely a move in the right direction. And if all else fails, who can say no to more Gojo content? Not us, that’s for sure.
