Both games have a quota mechanic you have to meet, they both have uniquely terrifying monsters, and both games are all the more enjoyable when played with your friends! The similarities are undeniable, but it’s those differences that prompt the question: which game is better?
From the scare factor to the replayable nature, both these multiplayer horror giants are fierce competitors to beat! Content Warning is downright terrifying, and Lethal Company is purely bone-chilling in the best sense of the word. If you’re looking to test your survival skills in scary, stressful, or chaotic situations, these games are for you. Or a mix of all three; you’re able to have it all!

Humor Factor - Content Warning
It wouldn’t be a multiplayer horror game experience if you took yourself seriously the whole time, would it? Content Warning has the advantage right from the start with its cartoon-like characters and physics. If you getgrabbed by a monster, the chances of you rubber-banding off the walls are pretty high, but if you don’t, flopping around is pretty fun to watch, too.
Not to mention, you can be theSpookTuberthat you’ve always wanted to be! Content Warning’s main feature is uploading the footage you film using yourcameratoSpooktube, which is an opportunity for any number of jokes (inside or otherwise!) to be made at your friends' expense.

Strategy - Lethal Company
You can only run for so long, but Lethal Company has far more strategies to escape the monsters in the dark than just running. Lethal Company players can become the Houdini of the Company in no time, despite the terror that lurks in the depths of each facility. You can outrun or outsmart any monster with time and practice!
Lethal Company has more opportunities to switch up your scrap runs every so often with modded or un-modded gameplay. You can choose to survive or fail any way you want, and at the end of the day, you justrespawn back on the ship! Of course, there’s the ever-present risk of not meeting the quota, but Lethal Company lets you have more fun with the threat of failure.

Graphics - Content Warning
It wouldn’t be a proper list without comparing theragdoll physicsof two graphical gems! Content Warning has it down, with clear and animated graphics on the surface and the comforting feel of your own cartoon bed at the end of a long day of filming. That’s not where the fun stops, though.
The horror aspects of this game are crisp and wonderfully rendered in starkly contrasted black and white, and their movements are animated to a disturbingly realistic degree. It can be hard to do a horrifying situation justice in just black and white, but the murder spree some of these monsters can go on is in crystal clear quality for your viewers to enjoy!

Character Customization - Lethal Company
It’s hard to beat the iconicemotes and suitsin even the vanilla version of Lethal Company. The funny dancealone is one of themost popular parts of this game, and when combined with the suit colors available, it makes for a great idle animation session when waiting for friends to join or to land the ship.
Besides those base game aspects, you may add even more to the game’s customization with mods. There areseven base suitsin the game that you can buy from the terminal store, each with its own different color. Helps you tell your friends apart in the most dangerous of facility environments!

Mod Compatability - Tie
Both games have an ever-expanding catalog of mods and an ever-expanding modding community as well! Lethal Company has the bigger mod database by default since the game has been around longer, but Content Warning already has some wonderful modding potential, especially when it comes tocharacter customization.
FromASCII faceson your custom Spooktuber tonew itemsyour friends can use on any planet, both Lethal Company and Content Warning are equals in their respective mod communities. The mods keep being created, and the game keeps expanding! The possibilities for the future are endless - for both games.

Monster Difficulty & Variety - Lethal Company

From the unassumingHoarding Bugto the large, aggressiveEyeless Dog, these monsters have so many unique characteristics to them! It’s clear the development team put a lot of thought and care into thepatterns and behaviorsof each monster.
Beyond therange of enemies, the difficulty of each monster is in no way equal across the board. There’s a way to avoid every monster, but some of them are far more difficult to dodge than others. This adds that extra excitement to the game as you scramble to keep yourself and your scraps intact. Good luck playing the same way for every monster!

Final Ruling - Lethal Company
By just a hair, Lethal Company comes out on top. These are both monumental games, but the chokehold Lethal Company has had over the gaming population cannot be understated. Content Warning has some serious competition and some big shoes to fill if it wants to gain the competitive edge. The amount of different ways to play this game alone would set it at the top of multiplayer horror, but Lethal Company excels at pretty much everything.
If you’re a fan of running around with your friends and looking for the first sign of an adrenaline rush, both of these games are for you, but Lethal Company has more of a tight-corner environment for you to make your escape in. Good luck with your space travel!
