Elden Ringis already a massive game with a lot of content to discover. Many players have likely explored it all since its release two years ago and are now craving more. This is where Shadow of the Erdtree comes in, arguably the biggest expansion from FromSoftware.
Naturally, this expansion includes a new map, new enemies, new weapons, and new NPCs. Additionally, it introduces a new level system called Shadow Realm Blessing, designed to help you keep up with the difficulty you will encounter as you start your journey in the Shadow of the Erdtree.
Shadow Realm Blessing, Explained
Along with the traditional means of increasing your strength byleveling up using Runes, the Shadow Realm introduces new upgrade items that provide significant benefits to your Tarnished. These items are calledScadutree FragmentsandRevered Spirit Ashes.
Once you find one of them, you need torest at a Site of Gracetoaccess the new Shadow Realm Blessing menu option, where you can apply these items and receive their benefits. The blessings from both items areactive simultaneously, so you don’t need to choose which one to benefit from.
Much like leveling up,higher levels of blessings require more of these items, starting with just one for the first few levels and going up to three for the highest levels.
What Does Scadutree Fragment Do?
Scadutree Fragmentsare used to increase thelevel of the Scadutree Blessingand areusually found near crosses. This blessingboosts both the damage negation values of your Tarnished and your attack power, resulting in you taking less damage from enemy attacks and dealing more damage with your own.
The increase is applied as a percentage on top of your base values, so regardless of your equipment, you’ll always get a significant bump in survivability and attack power. The adjusted values for your character will behighlighted in yellowwhen you check your character in the Status section of the main menu.
If you are struggling to defeat a certain boss within the Realm of Shadow, consider exploring more to find Scadutree Fragments to boost your character and help you overcome them.
What Does Revered Spirit Ash Do?
On the other hand, we haveRevered Spirit Ashes. The Revered Spirit Ash blessingenhancesyour Spirit Ashesin the same way the Scadutree Blessing enhances your character. Itincreases your summons' offensive and defensive capabilities, making them even more useful in the field, especially during boss fights.
As you upgrade this blessing, you will notice significant improvements in the performance of your Spirit Ashes, with higher levels providing even greater benefits.
Keep in mind that theseblessings only take effect while you are in the Shadow Realmand not in the base game.
While these two items might sound rare and are hard to find,there are actually many of them scattered throughout the game. In our playthrough, we managed to achieve a +15 Scadutree Blessing and a +8 Revered Spirit Ash Blessing.
So, don’t worry too much about searching for them specifically; if you explore enough, you will come across them naturally.
