Manor Lordstakes away the traditional grid system found inmany city builders, allowing you to freely place buildings anywhere within designated zones and rotate them at any angle. The goal is to build a truly organic city that reflects how real medieval towns grew. As your settlement grows, you eventually get access to a neat tool called the Castle Planner.
The Castle Planner is an interesting feature that allows you to customize the defenses andcore structures surrounding your Manor House. It works like a blueprint mode, where you canplan your village layoutwithout actually spending resources. If you’re wondering how to use the Castle Planner, read on.
How To Use The Castle Planner
To use the Castle Planner, you need tobuild a Manor Housefirst. This requires reaching the Small Village level and collecting five Timber,20 Planks, and 15 Stones. Once the Manor House is constructed, click on it and selectOpen the Castle Plannerfrom the menu. Here, you’ll see options forfour different modulesthat you can add to your village.
Walls and Gates
Walls and Gates are essential for creating a fortified perimeter around your village.Each wall segment costs one Plank.Additionally, if a Wall intersects a road, aGatewill be built automatically, costing youone Timber.
Outer Towers
Outer Towers provide additional defense for your village by increasing your Garrison space. You will need10 Timber and five Stonesto build one tower, which in return will addten Garrison spaces.
Garrison Towers
A Garrison Tower further enhances your town’s defense byincreasing your maximum Retinue size by 12 soldiers.Building a Garrison Tower will cost you ten Timers, 15 Planks, and ten Stones. With a stronger force,you’ll be better equipped todeal with raids and clear out bandit campsthat threaten your village.
You can only build one Garrison Tower per region.
Tax Offices
A Tax Office costsfour Timberto build. At the time of writing, it isonly a cosmetic building with no functionality. However, it’s possible that the Tax Offices might play a role in managing your town’s taxes in future updates.
