Elden Ring:Shadow of the ErdtreeDLC introduces a variety of new weapons that you can use to perfect your build. While most of the weapons are locked behind bosses and elite enemies, some are quite easy to get.

Out of all the new weapons in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, the Backhand Blade is one of the earliest you may get, as you can find it right away after stepping into the Land of Shadows. The weapon features a unique moveset and playstyle that you might find appealing, especially if you want to try out the new weapon type.

Backhand Blade’s Location is shown on the map.

How To Find The Backhand Blade

If you’ve just stepped into the Land of Shadows, head northwest toactivate the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace. From there, keep moving northwest to reach the Scorched Ruins Site of Grace.

You can also grab the map of the area first, which can be found directly south of the Scorched Ruins, to make it easier for you to navigate.

The description of Backhand Blade is shown in the weapon selection screen.

The standard Backhand Blade can be foundnorthwest of the Scorched Ruins Site of Grace. Here, you’ll find the Backhand Blade at a small mausoleum. Once you’ve reached the location, you’ll spot an item near the coffin. Grab it to get the Backhand Blade.

Be wary of the Furnace Golem walking around the area, as it can make it difficult for you to approach the weapon’s location.

The Tarnished is using the Backhand Blade’s Ash of War, Blind Spot.

The Backhand Blade Stats

The Backhand Blade requires a minimum often points in Strength and 13 points in Dexterityto be wielded effectively. Since the weapon scales on these stats, focus on increasing them as much as you may to inflict great damage on the enemies. You can also use Smithing Stones to upgrade the weapon to its maximum level of 25.

How To Use The Backhand Blade

The weapon’s moveset features fast strikes that are exceptionally powerful when dual-wielded, making the Backhand Blade anideal weapon for Dexterity builds. So, we recommend you always dual-wield the weapon for some rapid hits.

you’re able to also inflict various status effects on the enemies and bosses using the Backhand Blade by equipping Ash of War on it.

The Backhand Blade’s Ash of War, Blind Spot, allows the player toquickly dash to one sideandthen hit an enemy with a powerful strike. Note that the dash can also be used to dodge attacks. However, you may’t cancel the follow-up attack. If you don’t like the default Ash of War on this weapon, you can easily change it from any Site of Grace.

The Blind Spot, Ash of War, might be a bit tricky to use since you will be stuck in the attack’s sequence, which may make you vulnerable to enemies' hits.
