The North Grum-County region ofEiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroesis where your journey begins. The only town located in North Grum-County is Arenside. Predictably, this is where you will find all the North Grum recruits. It goes without saying that this region isn’tnearlyas packed with recruits as Grum County proper is, but there are still some interesting characters to be acquired here.
While North Grum-County only has a handful of characters, you won’t be recruiting them all in one fell swoop. Instead, you’ll be dipping back into Arenside multiple times throughout the course of the game. This guide will simplify that process for you and tell you when you need to head back to Arenside to grab the next recruit.
Can I Recruit Huang In Arenside?
While you will encounter Huang in Arenside, he isn’t actually recruitable at that point in the game.You will be able to recruit Huang later in Hishahn.Unfortunately, the act of recruiting him can be a bit of an ordeal.

Gigina is a cat masquerading as a lion that you’ll find in Arenside after you have completed the Abandoned Mines dungeon. That means Gigina will be available as of the “Homecoming” chapter of the story.Once you enter Arenside, take a left, and you’ll see Gigina hanging out near some children.Talk to Gigina and they will agree to join you.
Available once you have reached Euchrisse
Glen is a recruit who’ll introduce you to Eiyuden’s unique card game. You will find Glen by the building that you start the game in front of on the east side of town (he’s north of where you first run into Huang). Just talk to Glen, and he will introduce the card game to you.You will need to defeat Glen to get him to join your cause.
Available once you have reached the desert
Paquia is sitting beside the stables in Arenside. She’ll tell you about her dream of opening up a racetrack. Needless to say, we know exactly the place for her to set such a thing up.However, before she can do that, she’ll need five eggs.The best place to get those eggs is everyone’s favorite mountainous location:the Redthroat Ridge!
Head over to the Redthroat Ridge and find the Egg Shell monsters (that’s their name, not a description). These egg-like enemies will drop eggs (ironic) every time you defeat them. Once you have collected five eggs, simply return to Arenside and talk to Paquia. She’ll happily join your cause.
Some characters require you to start their quest before you may acquire the item they are seeking, that is not the case with Paquia. Ideally, you’ll already have the five eggs on you when you encounter her.
Have recruited Paquia
Mandie is, essentially, a freebie. Once you have recruited Paquia, Mandie will immediately appear and join your cause (you don’t even get a say in the matter).
