The Lands Between is a massive world to explore inElden Ring, with many different locations, areas, and biomes to discover. Thankfully, you don’t have to explore it all on foot because you have your faithful mount companion, Torrent, to help you traverse it.
One of Torrent’s unique features is the ability to use spiritsprings to reach higher areas that you normally couldn’t. While you usually don’t encounter any problems with this, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion introduces a twist: some of these spiritsprings are sealed and cannot be used right away.

How To Unlock Sealed Spiritsprings
As you progress through the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in Elden Ring, you will notice thatsome of the spiritsprings used when mounting Torrent to reach higher areas are not working. These can be recognized by theirmuch smaller size and severely weakened vortexcompared to the functioning ones.
This sealed ritual that affected them can, however, be disabled and you will need tofind a stack of stones, usuallylocated within a limited radius of the spiritspringto which it is tied. Once you find this cairn, all you need to do is attack itto break the seal and make the spiritspring functional.

Here is a picture of how this cairn looks:
While you might encounter a sealed spiritspring first, if you’ve met Moore before and checked his shop, you’re able to buya note called Sealed Spiritsprings, which provides a hint on how to unlock them, and basically, this is how we managed to figure it out.
Multiple sealed spiritsprings can be found around the Realm of Shadows, but so far, we’ve only managed to find one in our playthrough by the time we are writing this.

We will update this article to include the locations of all of them as we discover more.
