There’s a lot to do inCoral Island. Between farming, mining, and fishing, you can take care of various animals both on land and underwater. This work is rewarding, but it will take some effort to get started. Thankfully, we’ve got you covered.
The steps to unlock the underwater farm are many, but once you get there, you’re close to building the underwater barn and populating it with all the wonderful sea creatures – like the adorable Mermoos and Sea shrouds! Here’s everything you need to know about underwater ranching and how to look after your new animals in Coral Island.
Coral Island 1.1 is still in Beta, which is only available on Steam for the moment.
How To Get The Underwater Barn
To get the underwater barn, you need tounlock the underwater farmfirst. From there, you’ll need to make your way toSlamet’s shop west of the Merfolk Kingdom. There, you can pay him tobuild the underwater barnfor you.
Make sure to clear space on the farm for your barn, otherwise you won’t be able to build it!
You’ll need the following materials tobuild the barnon your underwater farm:

Coral Coins
It takestwo days for the underwater barn to be built, at which point you can startpurchasing animals you’ve unlocked.
How To Unlock Underwater Animals
There arefive underwater animalsfor your barn, but each must be unlocked. They can be unlocked by completing the corresponding orchestra sitessurrounding the Merfolk Kingdom.
Below is a table of all the underwater animals you can unlock and what resources they provide:

How To Care For Underwater Animals
Underwater animals are just like the ones on the surface. You’ll need tofeed them daily, but instead of hay,they eat seaweed. You can alsouse a milk pailto harvest Mermoo Milk from your Mermoos daily.

Underwater animal products can beturned into artisan goods, like cheese, just like their surface counterparts.
you’re able to alsolet your underwater animals wander your farmand graze. Make sure topet them dailyand look after them to increase your affinity with them. This will slowlyincrease the qualityof your animal products.
