Genshin Impact’sSea Of Bygone Eras, released in version 4.6, surprised everyone with its almost fully underwater map. It’s the final expansion for the region of Fontaine, and features a lot of new mechanics and mysteries to explore.
Sea Of Bygones Era is a great place to explore if you love underwater exploration and has a total of Six Luxurious Chests, which can be unlocked by completing challenges or solving puzzles. It’s recommended to find these chests after completing the Canticles Of Harmony Chain Quest.
Luxurious Chest Location One - Alta Semita
This chest is located in the Alta Semita region and travelers have tosolve a puzzlefor the chest to be unlocked.
Thepuzzle is somewhat simpleand can be easily solved.
Start by going in thedirection indicated by the aura of the big flowers(Wonderchime flowers). To unlock the chest,you must interact with the Washer Octopi(Blue octopus that says “Let’s rock”).
First,turn the Allochromatic Anemonestowards the direction of the left Washer Octopi byusing the power of Symphony.
If you are having a hard time aligning Wonderchime flowers and Allochromatic Anemones correctly,repeatedly tapping the elemental skill (while using symphony) to slowly rotate the flower in quick sessionswill make it easier.
After perfectlyturning it towards the left, you’re able to interact with the Washer Octopi and continue to the next step.
Go up and turn left to noticea large glowing Sea Shell, interact with it to reveal the Washer Octopi and tell it"Let’s rock".
For the final part,free the Washer Octopi that is surrounded by opponentsand interact with it to unlock the chest.
Luxurious Chest Location Two - Initium Iani
This luxurious chest is hidden and will not spawn until you complete all the challenges in the area.
Teleport toInitium lani regionand go towards the central area with large hills.
As you reach the hill in the center withlarge orange Clam Shells, you can interact with some of them. One of them witha Washer Octopi(Blue octopus), nearby willstart a time trial challengewhen interacted with.
This willstart the main objective of this area, which to is do"Time To Rock" interaction with three Washer Octopiin the area.
You can find the secondWasher Octopi past the hill, threatened by water creatures. Rescue it to interact with it, and the finalWasher Octopi can be found on top of the hill.
Interacting with all of them will reward you withone Luxurious chest and two exquisite chests.
Luxurious Chest Location Three - Clivus Capitolinus
Upon teleporting to this region, turn around to seethree Wonderchime flowerswith a locked Luxurious chest infrount of it.
To unlock this chest, you mustcomplete the challenge given by the Washer Octopi(small blue octopus).
The first challenge is topause all “swaying eels"on a coral reef at the same time.
To do this,use your power of symphony right at the moment when all three eels have their heads out.
Follow along the Washer Octopi and you will be led to a place whereyou must rescue two other Washer Octopi.Use underwater abilities tocut the sea grassandrescue the Washer Octopi.
Uponinteracting with the Washer Octopithat are now gathered in one place, the chest will be unlocked.
Luxurious Chest Location Four - Caesareum Palace
This is a fun Luxurious chest that can beunlocked by completing a combat challenge.
To start the challenge, simplytalk to the Nameless Stone Statueyou will see in front of you after teleporting to the Caesereum Palace.
The combat challenge consists offighting with multiple waves of Vishaps,and it’s recommend to try this in Co-op if you are a new player, asthis fight can be very challenging for players with lacking team comps.
After completing the combat challenge,the seal on the Caesareum Palace will be lifted,and you can head inside to obtain a Luxurious chest.
Luxurious Chest Location Five - Collegium Phonascorum
How to get the Collegium Phonascorum Luxurious Chest:This chest might be troublesome for some travelers to get even though it is in plain sight.
Start byteleporting to Collegium Phonascorum,turn around to quickly notice this chest highlighted very brightly by underwater creatures.
Like most Luxurious chests in Sea Of Bygone Area, this can also beunlocked by interacting the Washer Octopi lurking nearby.
Interact with the Water Octopi near the large metallic fish, and it will guide you through a challenge which will reward you with a exquisite chest.
The challenge involves defeating fishes nearby,use your underwater abilities to quickly defeat themand this challenge will be completed.
Next,you’re able to find the second Washer Octopi near the opposite metallic fish. Follow the second Washer Octopi and it will guide you along a path. Nothing notable needs to be done here as you will belead to a Wonderchime flower,but it will be unlocked automatically as the Washer Octopi comes near you.
For the final part,collect the hydro particlesthat spawn and the Luxurious chest can be taken easily.
Luxurious Chest Location Six - The Giant Bell
How to get the Giant Bell Luxurious Chest:The “Giant Bell”, is a hidden area in the Sea Of Bygone Eras region that can be discovered by teleporting to thefarthest north teleport waypoint in Initium Iani.
After teleporting,turn around to notice a large cave.Go inside andfollow the path,to arrive at your destination. Also verify to pick up theHydroculusand the exquisite chest along the way.
To unlock the Luxurious chest here,travelers must find three Seelies around the area. The first seelie can beeasily spotted by initially arriving at the Giant Bell area.
To get the first Seelie,defeat the stone golems in front of youand the Seelie will start moving. The Seelie here will also befollowed by a mysterious yellow bird,make sure you aretouching it toowhile following the Seelie.
Use thepower of Hydroto reach the top of the bell. Afterreaching close to the bell, you must “Hit” itby going near it, after ringing it,a mysterious yellow radiance will guide youand the second Seelie to its resting place.
Jump down and go to the Seelie’s resting placeto prepare to find the last Seelie.
To find the final Seelie, use elemental sighton it’s resting place to get its general direction. Follow that path, and you’re able to easily notice the Seelie.
To get this Seelie to move,you must defeat multiple waves of Anemo slimes.
This is an easy challenge as theAnemo slimes will instantly explodeas any skill touches them.
Follow the Seelie andwith all three Seelie’s discovered, the Luxurious chest will be unlockedafter a cut scene.
