As you build your Vault inFallout Shelter, you’ll accumulate plenty of Dwellers to look after. You may even become attached to some of them over time, but when they all start to look the same, it’s time to shake things up. Thankfully, there’s a way you can diversify the appearances of your Dwellers to make them more unique.
From changing their hairstyle to changing their entire face, there’s only one place to go: the Barbershop. Here’s everything you need to know to unlock the Barbershop and start giving your Dwellers some wasteland style while they go about their days.

How To Unlock The Barbershop
After getting used to living life inside the Vault and seeing what the wasteland has to offer, you may want tocustomize your favorite Dwellersto make them easier to see and select. In addition to outfits, weapons, and pets, you canchange your Dwellers featuresat the Barbershop.
Tounlock the Barbershop, you’ll need to haveat least 50 Dwellersin your Vault. The room takes up two room spaces and costs 10,000 bottle capsto build. Once built, you’re able to start using it right away.

Onlyone Dweller can be assignedto the Barbershop at a time.
How To Change Your Dwellers' Appearance
To change a Dweller’s appearance,assign them to the Barbershop. When youzoom into the room, you can select the option to customize them.
They’ll hop into the salon styling chair and you’ll see amenu to change their hairstyle, hair color, and facial features. Each change will cost adifferent sum of bottle caps and amount of timeto complete.
This can be sped up using Nuka-Cola Quantum!
You’ll need toupgrade the Barbershopto level two to change your Dweller’s facial features, whichcosts 50,000 bottle capsinitially. Afterwards, you can access many new styles to choose from.
How To Get Ghoul Dwellers
Ghouls are a fact of the wasteland. Irradiated humans end up lookingdifferent than the usual Dwellers, but you can alter the appearance of your Dwellers to make them Ghoulish.
After upgrading the Barbershop so you may change a Dweller’s facial features, you canapply the Ghoul mask. Thankfully, unlike actual irradiated Ghouls, youwon’t risk any radiation damageto the others in your Vault.
Ghoul Dwellers are different from recruiting The Ghoul from the Fallout TV series, though you can have both.
