Wood will provide several important resources for you to use inManor Lords. You can construct buildings and upgrades with raw timber, provide fuel with firewood, and even make planks to be used for various construction projects. So, how exactly do you get planks?
In this guide, we are going to go over how to efficiently use the Sawpit, which is used to produce planks. Without proper planning, it’s easy for your Sawpit to get full up on its storage or temporarily stop producing planks, but we can help you fix these problems.

Manor Lords is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.
What Does A Sawpit Do?
By placing down a Sawpit, you will be able tomake planks.Assigned workerswill begin to convert timber into planks. Rather than chopping down trees for this, your workers will use timber that is already in storage.
Why Has My Sawpit Stopped Producing Planks?
Has your Sawpit seemingly stopped working? This may becaused by the transportation of timber, which is used to make the planks.
With no way to transport timber to the Sawpit, your workers will have nothing to craft with. In this situation, you will need an ox, but if your ox is busy, then planks won’t be produced.

Oxen are used for construction and farming(if the development point has been unlocked). If all oxen are being used, then there will be none to carry timber to the Sawpit.
Where To Place The Sawpit
Sawpit placementcan help with plank production as well. We recommendplacing the following buildings close togetherin order to create an efficient and smooth transportation/production process.
With the Sawpit near both an ox and the storage area, timber can be delivered faster. A nearby Hitching Post with an ox is essential to plank production!

How To Create A Dedicated Sawpit Ox
By clicking on the Advanced tab for the Sawpit, you canassign an ox to work there. This will allow the Sawpit to have adedicated ox that is only used to haul timber.
For an ox to be assigned, you will need to have one already. We recommendupgrading Hitching Posts with the stable upgrade;this allows you tobuy an additional ox.Keep in mind that this willcostregional wealth, but shortly after purchasing, you will have a new ox to work with.

Be sure to alsoassign a family to the Hitching Post! This is useful in any situation, as there will be a family whosepurpose is to guide the ox.
