There are tales of a legendary blacksmith inDragon’s Dogma 2, one capable of fixing almost any piece of armor or weaponry in the world. Few know his identity nowadays, but you’ll need to find him if you want to get Vernworth’s Regalia Sword repaired.

As the Arisen, you’re automatically declared the Sovran of Vernmund and tasked with ruling over the various towns and cities. In ages past, Sovrans wielded the Regalia Sword as a sign of authority, but as times and Vernworth’s rulers changed, it became broken and not fit to use. It’s time for it to be restored to its former glory.

How To Start Dulled Steel, Cold Forge

This questbegins in Vernworth, and you’ll need to head into the Vernworth Castle area to do so. As youwalk up to the castle entrance, a soldier namedRoman will approach youand ask you to step to the side.

He’ll ask you for your help inrepairing theDulled Regalia Sword, and will hand it over to you, starting the quest.

First, you’ll need tospeak to Roderick, and you’ll find himat Roderick’s Smithyin thecenter of Vernworth. He’ll appraise the sword, thendirect you to someoneelse: adwarven smith located in Battahl.

How To Find The Legendary Dwarven Blacksmith

You’ll need tohead to the country of Battahlnext, andthere are two ways you may get into it: either through thegate at Checkpoint Rest Town, or taking a long paththrough the mountains west of Checkpoint Rest Town.

If you’repassing through the gateat Checkpoint Rest Town, you cantake an oxcart straight to Bakbattahlfrom the Battahli side of the border.

Either route you take into Battahl itself, make your way to thecapital city of Bakbattahlin thesoutheastern corner of Battahl.

Go down to where thearmor and weapons shopsare and take thepath leading to a home in the southwestern cornerof the city.

You’llneed it to get into Bakbattahl, and remain in the city without incident from the guards.

Go inside andspeak to Brokkr in the back room first, then try toleave the room, and you’ll beapproached by Sara, his apprentice.

Once Brokkr leaves,speak to Sara again, and she’ll explain that youneed someGlimmercoalif you want the Regalia Blade fixed and that you canfind it in Digger’s Ruins.

How To GetGlimmercoal

Digger’s Ruin isdue south of Bakbattahl, and you’ll need tofind a minimum of 15 pieces ofGlimmercoalfor Sara, but you canbring her more for a slight increase in Goldobtained in the reward.

While Digger’s Ruins is dark like most caves, you’llwant to keep your lantern off most of the time, as theGlimmercoalonly glows if there’s no lightaround and itslight will fade if you get too closewhile your lantern’s on.

Even if your lantern is on, you cantell the general locationof anyGlimmercoalby thegreen flecks with a faint glow on the wallsnear you.

You cantell the differencebetweenGlymercoleandGlimmercoalwithout your lanternby checking the prompt.

Glymercolehas an Examine prompt when nearby, whileGlimmercoalwill have a Gather prompt.

As you navigate Digger’s Ruins,focus on getting rid of all the enemies with your lantern outfirst, which mainly include various types of Knackers, but near thebottom areas and corners,you’llencounter some regular Slimes.

Once you’ve cleared everything out, you’ll befree to look for theGlimmercoalwith your lantern offafterward without fear of anything sneaking up on you.

You’ll also find apowerful Goreminotaurin thedeepest section of Digger’s Ruins, but it won’t come out of its location unless you search it out.

There’s atotal of 43 Glimercoalspread out throughout the entirety of Digger’s Ruins, and themajority of them are obtainable by any class.

A handful ofGlimmercoalpieces in aspecific location on Floor One either need a Mage or Sorcerer with Levitateto reach or bringboxes stacked upto reach them. This location also features themost densely packed amount ofGlimmercoalin Digger’s Ruins.

Even though theGlymercoleisn’t usedfor the quest, it stillsells for 150 Gold per piece, and there arearound 110 pieces in Digger’s Ruins, giving you aprofit of around 15,000 Goldif you get them all.

Once you’ve got all theGlimmercoalyou’re willing or able to carry,leave Digger’s Ruins and head back to Brokkr’s housein Bakbattahl.

How To Complete Dulled Steel, Cold Forge

Speak to Saraagain, and then you candeliver up to 25Glimmercoalto her. After another conversation,hand the Dulled Regalia Blade over to her, and you’ll complete the quest.

For your troubles, you’ll berewarded with some exp and up to 12,000 Gold, and immediatelyget access to the next quest in the line,Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge.
