In the asymmetrical horror gameDead By Daylight, you can play as horrifying killers who must hunt down four other players, called survivors, and sacrifice them on hooks to a mysterious Entity. As Dead By Daylight has grown as a popular horror game, the studio has been able to secure some incredibly unique and exciting collaborations with popular franchises.

The Lich, a powerful wizard named Vecna, stems from a collaboration with Dungeons and Dragons, and torments survivors with his prowess over dark magic. Unlike other killers, The Lich has a wide variety of spells he can pick through during a chase, making him difficult to master. Here is everything you need to know before you take on the role as The Lich.

How Does The Lich’s Power Work?

Each killer has a power that is unique to them, which assists you in hunting down survivors. The Lich’s power is calledVile Darkness, allowing you to open his spellbook andchoose between four different spellsthat each have an independent cooldown. These spells all have separate effects, from helping you traverse the map, disabling items, and even damaging survivors from afar.

Here arethe four spellsthat you have access to while playing The Lich:

Fly

Grants the ability to fly across the environment, ignoring dropped pallets and windows. If you fly through a pallet or window, the flight ends early.

Flight Of The Damned

Grants the ability to conjure five Flying Entities that pass through obstacles and injure survivors.

Dispelling Sphere

Cast a moving invisible sphere that reveals Survivors with Killer Instinct and disables their Magic Items for 60 seconds.

Mage Hand

Creates a Magical Hand that lifts dropped Pallets back upright or blocks already upright Pallets for four seconds.

Tips For Playing As The Lich

Since The Lich has so many spells, it can be confusing to know when you should use each ability. As you continue to master his magic, you will have no trouble sacrificing survivors to the entity and securing victory.

What Are Mage Items?

Whenever you start a match, six Magical Chests will automatically spawn around the map, containing Mage Items. Each survivorcan wear up to two different Mage Items, and each item interacts with your Killer Power in unique ways.

Whenever a survivor opens one of these chests, they will find Boots, Gauntlets, or a Special Itemafter automatically completing a D20 dice roll. The higher the roll, the rarer the items are.

Here is a list of each mage item, and how they counteract your spells:

Effect

Boots/Gauntlet of The Skyguard

Reveals the auraof The Lich while he is using the Fly spell.

Boots/Gauntlet of The Nightwatch

Reveals the auraof the flying skeletons during Flight of the Damned.

Hand Of Vecna

Rushing into a locker while carrying this item will teleport the Survivor into a different locker that isat least 10 meters away.

Eye Of Vecna

Rushing out of a locker grants the Survivor complete invisibility for12 seconds. During this time the Survivor will create noScratch Marks, Blood Pools, or Grunts of Pain.

If a survivor is carrying either the Eye of Vecna or the Hand of Vecna, they are vulnerable after two hook stages. If you happen to down either of these survivors, you can execute them quickly with a mini-mori,removing them from the game instantly.

The Best Add-Ons For The Lich

Like every other killer in the game, The Lich can invest points in the Bloodweb to unlock personalized add-ons,each providing small buffs to your spells.Overall, the best add-ons for the Lich arethose that reduce your spell cooldowns,as they allow you to spam your abilities more frequently.

If you do not want to invest in spell cooldown, you can alwaysupgrade Mage Hand,as this spell is regarded as the Lich’s most powerful tool. Investing in both theRing of Telekinesis and the Boots of Speedwill assist you in downing survivors swiftly.

Weave Attunement Build

Weave Attunemnet is a perk that makes survivors oblivious when they pick up items off the ground, andreveals the auras of Survivors around dropped items. This makes the perk synergize perfectly with Franklin’s Demise, whichforces Survivors to drop their itemswhenever you hit them with a basic attack.

These two perks will create pockets on the map where you’re able to see the auras of any survivors walking around the dropped items, which can provide vital intel. You can also use perks like Pop Goes The Weasel or Corrupt Intervention with this build, as theyslow down the progress of generators.

Here are the perks you can use in a Weave Attunement build:

Dark Arrogance Build

The Dark Arrogance build focuses onvaulting as quickly as possible,at the cost of leaving yourself vulnerable to pallet stuns or blinds. By adding onWesker’s Superior Anatomy perk, you will havea combined vaulting speed of 65 percent, allowing you to catch survivors up to survivors incredibly fast.

Using the perk Enduring willshorten the amount of time you are stunned,a useful addition when you consider that Dark Arrogance makes all stuns against you 25 percent longer. Finally, using a generator regressionperk like Ruin will stop survivors from finishing generators swiftly.

Here are the perks you can use in a Dark Arrogance build:

Languid Touch Build

A Languid Touch build focuses on making Survivors unable to use some of their perks, as Languid Touchcauses Survivors to become exhausted whenever they disturb a crow. You willreceive notifications about these disturbed crowsby pairing this perk with a base game perk like Spies From The Shadows.

you’re able to also use the perk Mindbreaker to spread even more negative status effects around, as this makes Survivorsexhausted and blind while interacting with a generator. Finally, you can supplement your build with a perk like Bamboozle to vault over windows faster and cut off escapes in a chase.
