When you’re playing as a Human inKiller Klowns From Outer Space: The Gameand you either get killed or escape, you’re then able to spectate your remaining teammates. This is a very similar feature to many other asymmetrical multiplayer games, but the developers here have added a unique twist.
While you’re spectating, you can also play a series of minigames that will help you unlock items that you can gift to whoever you’re spectating, or keep for yourself if you get revived. This adds a fun, interactive element to spectating, and sometimes the items you give to your teammates can mean the difference between defeat and victory.
How To Play Hand Of Fate Minigames
After you’ve escaped or been killed by a Klown, you’ll automatically be put into spectator mode andbegin watching your remaining teammates. You can switch back and forth between available teammates, or choose from the list on the left of “Players In Match”.
There will be a slight delay, thenHand Of Fatewill pop up in front of you, prompting you tobegin playing the minigames. Hold down the indicated button to begin, then press the same button to start the first minigame.
Each game has a45-second timer counting downto when you get to pick a card from the Hand Of Fate.
The order in which the minigames appear is random, but there will always be thesame five games.
How To Play Balloon Pop
For the Balloon Pop game you just need to do what the title suggests:pop balloons!
There is a vertical line and a horizontal line, and the “pin” that you’re using to pop the balloonsintersects both lines. It moves either up and down the vertical line, or left and right along the horizontal line, depending on how you time your inputs.
As it’s going up and down,press the button when the pin is lined up with a balloon. Then, when it crosses horizontally, press the button again when it’sdirectly on the balloon to pop it.
Each time you pop a balloon,five seconds will be deducted from the timer. Also, each time you pop a balloon, the lines move faster, making it more difficult. If you miss, the speed resets.
How To Play Sequencer
You’ll needquick fingers for the Sequencerminigame. On the top you’ll see a grid of cellswith a pattern in orange.
On the bottom grid,each cell is highlighted in orderfrom left to right, then it starts over at the top again.
As each cell is highlighted, you mustrepeat the pattern in the above gridas each of the cells are highlighted. For each cell you match correctly, two seconds will be deducted from the timer. But be careful, once you hit a correct cell,the puzzle will speed up. When you hit a wrong cell, it will slow down again.
Honestly, this is my least favorite one as my fingers are not quick enough! I’ll either just wait the 45 seconds, or I’llcontinually spam the buttonhoping I hit the right cells.
How To Play Whack-A-Klown
This minigame is very much like theWhack-A-Mole games you’ll find in many arcadeswhere you hit the little mole puppets with a hammer as they pop out of the holes. This game is the same, but withKlowns instead of moles.
In Whack-A-Klown,press the appropriate buttonto hit each Klown with the hammer as they pop up out of the hole. For each hit you get, thetimer will be decreased by two seconds.
How To Play Repeat The Beat
If you’ve ever played the Simon Says game from the 80s, thenyou will recognize this minigame.
Here it’s calledRepeat The Beat. Just like the original game, the different colors will light up in a pattern, beginning with three. Pay attention,so that you can then repeat the pattern.
If you repeat the pattern correctly,the pattern increases to four, then to five. Each time you press a correct key, thecountdown will decrease by two seconds.
If you get the pattern wrong, thegame starts over with a three-color pattern.
How To Play Hot Shot
What’s an arcade without a basketball hoop game, where each basket gets you a different amount of points?
In similar fashion here,each basket gets you a different number of secondstaken off the countdown.
To shoot the ball at a basket,hold down the button then release it. If you can time it just right, you might be able to hitthe high-numbered basketsand get through the countdown faster.
What Hand Of Fate Minigames Do
So what do the minigames do, andwhat is the countdown for?At the end of the countdown you’ll be able tochoose a card from the Hand Of Fate. This card will be auseful itemthat can be used in-game,either for you to hold on to, should you get resurrected, or for you togive to the teammate you’re spectating. So, the better you are at the games, the faster you’ll get to choose a card.
While spectating, you’ll be able to see both the inventory of the person you’re watching and your inventory. When presented with the item cardyou can also choose to discard, should neither of you need it.
If there are multiple people still in the match, make sure you’re switching between them soyou’re not giving items to just one person.
