The elite soldiers of Super Earth inHelldivers 2form a four-man team to fight the bugs and bots. While playing all missions with a full squad is the right way to spread managed democracy, playing solo is still an option.
Most missions can be played alone if you equip the best solo build loadout in the game. Regardless of the faction, Terminids, or Automatons, playing solo is easier on lower difficulty levels and gets challenging as you increase the difficulty. This guide lists the complete loadout you must run with if you go solo.

Best Stratagems For Solo Build
Using asolo build is completely optional; if you are using it, learning about the best stratagems is where you should start.Playing solo is nearly impossible without the correct stratagemsthat help you get out of an ugly situation.
For starters, the solo build requires you tomove consistently and never stop at a spot. For this, ahigher level of mobility should be the priority. Secondly, if the enemies do spot you, wiping them off quickly should be the primary concern instead of completing an objective because you have no one to rely on in the field.

LIFT-850 Jump Pack
TheJump Pack is the first stratagemyou should pick in the loadout for the best solo build. Ithelps you reach vertical heightsthat are otherwise impossible to scale.
Strategic positioning is the key to survivalwhile running solo. While staying away from bots or bugs is the priority, sometimes running away is not an option. Instead, climbing a vertical rock or a platform where the Automatons can not shoot you, or bugs can not rush you is the best strategy to survive solo. The Jump Pack gives you this freedom.

Orbital Airbust Strike
You will always find a small to large swarm of enemies posted at the main objectives' location while playing missions like Purge Hatcheries, Launch ICBM, and Blitz.More enemies only appear if your presence is detected for a longer durationand you fail to eliminate threats quickly.
In situations like this, youneed the Orbital Airburst Strike to deal massive AoE damageto a concentrated crowd. For the best solo build, you should always aim and call down this stratagem while remaining undetected.

Mostbugs or bots will be wiped out quicklyby Orbital Airburst Strike, including the Chargers, and you can kill the rest by gunning them down quickly. This way, the chances of enemy reinforcements will be reduced significantly, and you can safely complete the main mission objective solo.
Eagle Airstrike
TheEagle Airstrike is one of the best offensive stratagemsin the game. It can potentiallywipe out light to medium and heavy armored enemies in a single strike.
Plugging bug holes or destroying Automaton Fabricators during the Blitz mission becomes a cakewalk using Eagle Airstrike. Therefore, for the best solo build in the game, learning how to use the Eagle Airstrike best will only strengthen your assault and increase the chances of survivability.

Always line your targets at a perpendicular angle as the pilots drop missiles perpendicular to the location of the Eagle Airstrike stratagem throw.
Eagle Cluster Bomb
Eagle Cluster Bomb is often termed as a team killer. That is because it has amassive AoE of cluster bombsthat start dropping from the left side of the screen to the right.
However, playing solo gives you an advantage as you will no longer need to communicate with teammates to clear the area before you throw the Eagle Cluster Bomb.

This stratagem does not eliminate heavy armored threats. However, it will still strike the weak spots and will damage them. You will need the Eagle Cluster Bomb on the Suicide difficulty leveland above while playing solo. That is because anincreased enemy variety and presence will be found on each main mission objective.
At lower difficulty levels, you will find only light to medium-armored enemies that can easily be taken out using the Orbital Airburst Strike. Always save your Eagle Cluster Bomb for bug breaches, or botship drops only.

Weapon Choices
Usingstratagems will only be necessary to avoid detection and killing bugs or botsquickly. However, you will still need the best primary weapon that can deal excellent damage and comes with a decent range and little to no recoil.
You also need a reliable secondary weapon that supports you whenever your weapon overheats or the magazine runs out of bullets. While the grenades are supplementary to a loadout, sometimes, using a grenade makes tackling the situation easier than using a gun.

LAS-16 Sickle
LAS-16 Sickle is thebest primary weaponin the game. Thisweapon was released as a part ofThe Cutting Edge Wardond. Itfires energy rounds at a higher rate of fireand practically has no recoil.
The laser-sharp precision you get with this weapon makes the gun perfect for the solo build. You do not need ammo to operate this weapon. However, the LAS-16 Sicklewill overheat, and you mustreplace the heatsink to use it again.

P-19 Redeemer
TheP-19 Redeemer has been the best secondary weaponsince the game’s release. Itpacks a very high rate of fire, 1100 RPM, and shreds targets at very close distances.
G-10 Incendiary Grenade
Explosive grenades are great, butincendiary ones are much better when clearing crowds or dealing with AoE damage. You can sometimes miss throwing a grenade in the right spot during the heat. The explosion will deal less damage.
However, if it were an incendiary grenade, thefire would burn for a short duration, catching anyone who gets close.

Armor Choice:SC-34 Infiltrator
TheSC-34 Infiltrator is the best armor for the solo build. Being light armor, you get higher speed and stamina regeneration stats. The best part of this armor is the Scout Passive. This allows you to know the enemy’s presence on the map after placing a marker at a certain spot.
Staying stealthy is also important for solo builds as you approach the main objectives. Luckily, theSC-34 Infiltrator reduces the detection by 30 percent, significantly better than most armor in the game for solo build.
Booster Selection
Since staying on the move is the highest priority while playing solo, you should always pick theStamina Enhancement Boosterin your loadout. It helps you regenerate stamina faster, and gives your character a bigger stamina bar to run for an extended duration.
Solo Build Playstyle
The first rule of playing the solo buildin the game is toalways stay on the move. Standing at a spot will onlymake you an easier target. This applies especially to Automatons as they deal with ranged damage, and you will never know when an incoming rocket will hit you.
You shouldalways use the Jump Pack generously. This can beused to run from one main objective to the nextquickly. Or, you’re able to useit strategically and position yourself verticallybefore unleashing an assault on a concentrated crowd.
The longer a mission takes, the more lethal the threat becomes. The Jump Pack lets you go from point A to point B much faster than running. You must use it frequently.
Never allow targets to get closer to you. You only get five reinforcements, and dying after that will fail the mission, making the solo build useless. For this, use the default scope of LAS-16 Sickle and take out targets from the distance. The gun has basically no recoil, so feel free to change the scope setting and even shoot at a greater distance.
Alwayscheck the map before infiltrating an area. The SC-34 Infiltrator is the best armor for the solo build, as placing a marker on the map will ping enemy presence, letting you know the total number of enemiesin the area.
