Summary
After pulling a character inGenshin Impact, you’d usually be able to use them directly in combat and get full value from their kit once it’s fully upgraded. However, every once in a while, a character with a complicated kit comes to the game, and you can easily lose a lot of value if you don’t use them properly.
Arlecchino, a five-star Pyro Polearm Fatui Harbinger, is one such character. While the game already had a Bond of Life mechanic, she’s the first playable character who uses it to deal greater damage, but you have to manage things quite perfectly with her.

6Time Your Burst Well
The most important tip you can get when you first start playing Arlecchino is to not have yourhand on the Elemental Burst buttonall the time. With most characters, you wait until you get that Burst ready and use it. However, in Arlecchino’s case, you’d want to time the Burst at a very specific moment.
If you read her Elemental Burst’s description, you’ll find out that it absorbs all the surrounding Directives. However, the one thing that isn’t made very clear is that she alsoabsorbs all her current Bond of Life to heal herself, so you don’t necessarily get any free BoL even though it resets the Skill’s cooldown.

In most cases, youmight even end up losing some Bond of Lifeif you’ve stacked it well.
The only way to use her Burst properly is when your Skill is on cooldown andyou have less than 40 percent of your Bond of Life left. However, you can still use it without a question if Arlecchino gets too low since she can’t be healed with any other means during combat.

5A Shielder Is Highly Recommended
As mentioned above, you may’t heal Arlecchino by any means during combat except her Elemental Burst. This makes shieldersone of the best characters to pair with her without a doubt. If you’re attempting to beat Spiral Abyss, which is the only endgame content, you’ll find yourself going up against single-target bosses quite often.
While these battles reduce the number of targets you need to focus on, they alsoincrease the overall damage your characters will takesince the bosses deal far more damage than any smaller mob. Arlecchino’s squishy health bar, which might go up to a maximum of 20,000, makes this a lot worse.

There are high chances of you getting defeated quite easily by these bosseseven with the extra RES from her passive talent.
4Arlecchino’s Rotation Isn’t Like Other DPS Characters
There are many reasons for Arlecchino to feel like a breath of fresh air when compared to most of the other DPS units released in the game recently. Thedifference in her play style and rotations when she’s on the team is a huge part of this.
Most DPS units in the gameget a buffed state when they meet a certain condition, andthis state goes away if you switch to another character. This leads to all the units having a similar play style of using all your support abilities before switching to the main DPS and executing their combinations.

Thankfully, Arlecchino isn’t bound by such laws since herbuffed state lasts as long as she has over 30 percent BoL, but this doesn’t get cleared even when she’s taken away from the field. You can keep her Bond of Life for an infinite amount of time as long as you don’t accidentally heal her.
Arlecchino can still be healed by other means when you’re not in battle, butthis first takes away her Bond of Lifeand then provides healing.

No matter which team you’re using Arlecchino in, you’re able to easilyswitch away from her at any point and come backwithout losing anything important.
3First Constellation Is Better Than The Weapon
If you’re a low-spender in Genshin Impact or have been saving your Primogems for a long time to splurge on Arlecchino, you’ll get two choices once you get her for the first time. You can either go for her weapon and risk spending up to 240 pulls to get it, or go for her constellation, which takes a maximum of 180 pulls.
Her first constellation gives you more value than the weapon as well, so the only reason you’d want to go for the weapon over it isif you reallyjust want to get that exclusive scythe design. Of course, if you can afford to get both of these, that’d be the best-case scenario for your Arlecchino damage numbers.
2Don’t Consume The Directives Too Fast
After you read Arlecchino’s kit for the first time, it’s easy to get a general idea of how she works. You use Elemental Skill to apply Directives on the surrounding enemies andthen a Charged Attack or the Burst to consume them. However, the timing of when you consume these Directives can change a lot.
If you consume the Directive within the first five seconds of applying them, you’ll get 60 percent BoL from each one. However,if you consume them after five seconds, you’re able to get up to 130 percent from each. The maximum cap still stays at 165 percent for the base kit, but this tip can be quite important against single-target bosses.
This is the main reason why you’d always want toapply Arlecchino’s Skill before anything elseon the battlefield.
It lets you get the upgraded version of the Directives without any hassle since you’ll take five seconds to use other party members' abilities.
1Her Artifacts Are Difficult To Build
The last thing you have to understand about Arlecchino is thather artifacts can be quite difficult to build, even more so than the other DPS units. This is majorly because apart from the Crit Ratio that you need on any other DPS, she also needs a high amount of ATK to make full use of one of her passives.
This passive can give you up to 20 percent extra RES if you have 3,000 ATK, buteven with her signature weapon, you’ll mostly get up to 2,500unless you try your hardest to get extra ATK on every artifact. Furthermore, you’ll also need to build some Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery if you’re planning to use her in a reaction-based team.
