Weapons are essential to forming your militia inManor Lords. With weapons, your villagers can take to battle and defeat outlaws, as well as other armies. Before setting out though, you will need to make or buy weapons to do so.
In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to make weapons. This will go over the entire process, as well as how to make shields, which are also used by the militia. At the end, you should be able to build up a powerful militia that is capable of defeating any foe!

Manor Lords is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.
Weapon And Shield Options
In total, there arefour weapons and two shields that you can make, which can be found below. We’ve also included whattype of militia membersuse them.
Large Shield
Spear Militia
Militia members who use a shieldwill need one before being added to the group. For example, if you have 15 spears and just 13 large shields, then the militia group will only be made of 13 spearmen.
Weapons are made intwo separate buildings, which you can find below.
Fletcher’s Shop
The Fletcher’s Shop is aburgage plot extension that becomes available after upgrading the plot at least one time.Once the extension has been added, the building willautomatically produce warbows if there are enough planks.
This is the only item made here, and you canpause the building’s production if you have enough.Warbows made here will be distributed to men in the village, allowing them to become members of the archer militia.

Blacksmith
At the Blacksmith, you will be able to makesidearms, spears, and polearms. The Blacksmith is also a burgage plot extension available for level two plots. Below, you can check out the three weapons that are made at the Blacksmith burgage plot.
1x Plank

1x Iron Slab
From theGeneraltab of the burgage plot, you will be able to select the weapon that you want to be produced.
How To Get Iron For Weapons
Iron slabs are needed to make the three Blacksmith tools. To get these slabs, you will first need toput a Mining Pit on an iron deposit. If you have any rich iron deposits (marked with a crown) in your territory, we suggest prioritizing these.Rich deposits hold more ore,and can be upgraded after unlocking the Deep Mining development point (which is essentiallyinfinite mining).
After you have a mining pit to collect iron, you will then need toprocess it at the Bloomery. This building is found in theIndustry tab of the construction menu, and allows you toprocess iron ore into slabs, which can then be used for weapon production.

How To Make Shields
Shields are made at theJoiner’s Shop.Once again, this is a burgage plot extension that can be added once you level up a plot at least one time. With a Joiner’s Shop built, you can make the following two shield types.
2x Plank

Planks are fairly easy to obtain; just be sure toset up anefficient Sawpit production system.
How To Buy Weapons
Lastly, you are able tobuy weapons from the Trading Post. Each weapon and shield type requires anestablished trading route, which will cost some money (in regional wealth). Below, you can check out the buying and selling price for each weapon, as well as how much it costs to establish a trade route.
