Blissey Ex Deck Best Cards
There are several variations of the Blissey ex deck that can be utilized, each one with a focus on Blissey ex and Munkidori. Discover some of the best cards to use in this deck, including those essential to the deck, like Blissey ex and Cheren’s Care, as well asoptional cards that can provide significant results.
Blissey Ex
Blissey ex is truly the star of this deck. Although its attack, Return, does only a maximum of 180 damage, this ex Pokemonoffers durability and a unique Ability.
With abase HP of 300, Blissey ex is among some of the most durable cards in meta, including the likes ofCharizard exandDragapult ex. As a Colorless type, its only Weakness is to Fighting, of which there are few popular decks.

Because of this,Blissey ex can easily withstand at least one attack. This allows you to utilize a variety of different countering options in this deck. One example of this is Munkidori’s Ability.
Munkidori’s Ability, Adrena-Brain, moves damage counters from one of your Pokemon to one of your opponent’s.

Blissey ex’s Happy Switch Ability also allows you to readily navigate changes in gameplay, setting up Pokemonoradjusting Energy attachmentseasily. This can be necessary when adding Energy to your Munkidori or setting up another Blissey ex in anticipation for a Cheren’s Care on a different Blissey ex.
Cheren’s Care
There are several different cards available that allow you to take a Pokemon off your Bench or Active Spot and place it back into your hand. However, Cheren’s Care is unique in that it alsoallows you to return all attached cards to your handas well. This includesEnergy and Tool cards.
Cheren’s Care can also be used to pick up Hero’s Cape when it is attached to a Colorless type Pokemon. This helps keep it in play for longer.
Cheren’s Care can be essential forpivoting quicklybetween a damaged Blissey ex and one with no damage. Although Munkidori can be helpful for mitigating small amounts of damage,Cheren’s Care can completely restore your Blissey ex’s HP. This helps keep your cards in play while also denying your opponent from taking Prize Cards.
Hoopa Ex
Although this deck plays only a single Hoopa ex, it is not an insignificant addition to the Blissey ex deck. In fact, this Pokemon can producegame-altering plays, especially in situations where Blissey ex alone may struggle.
Hoopa ex is a Fighting-type Pokemon thanks to its Tera type. However, it uses basic Darkness Energies for its attacks, allowing it to be utilized seamlessly alongside Munkidori. It applies Weakness to many Colorless-type Pokemon, as well as some Lightning-type Pokemon.
Because of the Weaknesses Hoopa ex can apply, it can be beneficial in countering Pokemon like Pidgeot ex and Iron Hands ex.
The main attack you’ll want to use from Hoopa ex isEnergy Crush. This attack scales based on the amount of Energy attached toallof your opponent’s Pokemon, both those on the Bench as well as the Pokemon in the Active Spot.
This allows for Hoopa ex to excel against decks that rely onaccelerating Energy and maintaining a well-established board, such as against Charizard ex orFuture Box. Your opponent will have to be more cautious with their Energy attachments. Otherwise, they’ll allow your Hoopa ex to scale.
Because there is only a single Hoopa ex card in this deck, with few indicators,it can serve best as a surprise attacker. If you are able to not reveal your Hoopa ex until it needs to come into play, this can help catch your opponent off-guard, likely resulting in more Energies in play.
Through the use of Blissey ex’s Ability, you can rapidly set up a Hoopa ex in order to attack. This is especially true if you are able to attach for turn to Hoopa ex.
Blissey Ex Deck Strategy
Because Blissey ex is a Stage 1 Pokemon and this deck plays no Technical Machine: Evolution,it is often best to go first. This allows you to set up your board before your opponent can do significant damage, as well as give you an additional turn to attach Energies.
On the ideal first turn, you’ll haveat least one Chansey in play with an Energy attachment. In order to attack with Blissey ex on your second turn, you’ll need to attach a basic Energy and a Double Turbo Energy.
The Chansey played in this deck is the Lucky Bonus Chansey. This card is unique because, if you draw it from your Prize Cards after taking a Knock Out, you’re able to flip a coin for the chance to take an extra Prize Card. This Ability only activates if you can place Chansey onto your Bench.
On your second turn, it is unlikely that you will have taken any significant damage. Chansey has an HP of 110, making it more durable than many other Basic Colorless Pokemon that don’t have Rule Boxes. As a result, it is okay not to have a Munkidori set up until your third turn, allowing you to more readilyprepare your Blissey ex to attack.
The main strategy of the Blissey ex deck is toattack using Returnwhen possible andremove damage however necessaryto prevent your opponent from securing a Knock Out. In some situations, Munkidori may be enough to prevent a Kncok Out. In other situations, you may need to use Cheren’s Care.
Blissey Ex Deck Common Threats
Because the Blissey ex deck relies on the Cheren’s Care scoop-up mechanic, one of the biggest threats for this deck isTwilight Masquerade’s Milotic. Milotic has the AbilityMentally Calm.
This Abilityblocks any form of scoop-up mechanic, from Cheren’s Care to Penny and Professor Turo’s Scenario. As a result, you won’t be able to pivot a damaged Blissey exout of the Active Spot as easily.
Mentally Calm will prevent you from placing Pokemon and any attached cards into your hand.
Thankfully, however, this can also be countered, although it does take additional steps in work. The Blissey ex deck plays bothCounter Catcher and Boss’s Orders, giving you two different options for placing Milotic in the Active Spot in order for you to easily knock it out through Blissey ex.
Munkidori can also help counter Milotic.Through Munkidori’s Adrena-Brain Ability, you’re able to move up to 30 damage from Blissey ex to Miltoic. This only occurs, however, if Munkidori has a basic Darkness Energy attached. If you have multiple Munkidori in play, as well as enough damage across your Bench, you can use Adrena-Brain multiple times per turn.
With three Munkidori cards in this deck, with all of them on the Bench, you can remove up to 90 damage from your Pokemon each turn.
Other decks that Blissey ex may struggle with are those thatdeal large amounts of damage each turn. Blissey ex relies on surviving attacks and being able to mitigate damage. This isn’t possible if a Pokemon is able to Knock Out Blissey in a single attack.
