Answering phone calls inStill Wakes The Deepoffers you information pertaining to both what is happening on the rig and Caz McLeary’s backstory with his wife, Suze. While some of the phone calls have to be answered to move the story forward, about half of them are optional.

These phone calls can easily get missed due to the ringing starting after you leave a location. Additionally, many of them will stop ringing after a certain amount of time if you don’t answer it. Answering all the optional phone calls not only adds to the horror atmosphere of the game, but will also grant you the Clear Down Trophy/Achievement.

How To Unlock The Clear Down Trophy/Achievement

There areeight optional phone callsthat you can answer throughout the game. These are phone calls that are not needed to move the game forward, and some of them can time out if youdon’t answer them fast enough.

The optional calls usually featurecrewmates in danger, or flashbacks of conversations between Caz and his wife Suze.

Each phone callusually occurs after a checkpoint, so if the call times out and you miss it, just restart from the checkpoint and you should be able to get it.

First Optional Phone Call

The first optional phone call is also thefirst phone call you’ll receive in the game. The first time you enter Accommodation after escaping Gibbo in Engineering, turn right and go into the room at the end of the hallway,following the sound of the ringing phone. The phone will be on the wall in that room next to a map of the rig.

Second Optional Phone Call

After putting out your first fire and earning theFahrenheit 0451 Trophy/Achievement, turn right and go up the stairs, then walk down a small pathway into a supply room.

Next to the yellow ladder at the back of the room is a phone that will start ringingwhen you open the door. This is another one that will time out if you don’t answer it soon enough.

Third Optional Phone Call

This phone isinside Rennick’s office. The first time the phone rings, it’s part of the story, and you have to pick it up to know where you need to go next.

After you hang up,it’ll start ringing againwhen you open the back door to leave Rennick’s office. If you don’t go back to answer the phone, it will eventually time out and won’t allow you to use it.

Fourth Optional Phone Call

You’ll hear this phone ringing when you enter Administration. At the end of the hall there isa door marked Authorized Personnel Only. Go inside and answer the phone.

There’s another room inside this office thatholds a fire extinguisher, which you’ll need to continue to the next area.

Fifth Optional Phone Call

After escaping Rennick, start looking for a new way into Engineeringalong the starboard side of the rig.

As you make your way down, you’ll come to a supply room with a phone on the right. In the back is a white hatch that you’ll use to continue the story.

Through door is another supply room, phone on the right wall in Still Wakes The Deep.

The phone will start ringingwhen you open the door, and will eventualy stop if you don’t answer it.

Sixth Optional Phone Call

After you finish with the Pontoons and you arrive back at Accommodationfor the second time, you’ll use the phone by the window tocheck in with Roy.

Then, open the door on the left to go outside.This will trigger the phoneyou just usedto start ringing. When you pick it up, it’s Suze, Caz’s wife, but she’s not calling. You’rehearing a flashbackof a conversation between the two of them from the past.

Seventh Optional Phone Call

Towards the end of the game, you’ll find yourself back in Accommodationfor the third time,after you’ve escaped the flooding in Engineering.The phone is at the end of the hallway, past the map. But, as usual, it won’t begin to ringuntil you leave and start making your way to the Crew Lounge.

When you answer the phone, it’sanother memory flashbackyou’ll be listening to, further showing that Caz is beginning to lose his mind.

These flashback phone callsdon’t time out like the others, and will continue ringing no matter how long you wait.

Eighth Optional Phone Call

During the flooding in Admin, as you make your way up, thephone will ring in one of the offices. It’s another memory flashback of Suze.
