Master Rahool has received a small rework inDestiny 2: The Final Shape.He now offers a reward track that’s similar to most Tower vendors, awarding Masterwork materials and even Exotic Ciphers for simply decyptying engrams. Focus any Exotic Engrams you come across, and you’ll qucikly become Rahool’s favorite Guardian.
And being the friend of a master cryptarch has its perks. If you can increase your Cryptarch Rank, you’ll unlock an exclusive third tier of Engram focusing, one that allows for target-farming of any non-Prismatic armor piece in the game. This short guide will explain how to unlock this new feature by increasing your Cryptarch Rank, covering everything from XP thresholds to Rahool’s reward track.
What Is Cryptarch Rank?
Master Rahool now has a reputation system that mimics those seen for ritual vendors—Zavala, Shaxx, and the Drifter.By decrypting engrams at Rahool, you will increase your Cryptarch Rank and unlock new rewards.Each rank awards a Legendary Engram and will progress Rahool’s reward track, which mostly consists of Masterwork materials.
That’s all fairly standard, but there’s an additional reward for resetting your rank.Upon resetting your rank with Rahool, you’ll unlock a third tier of Exotic focusing.This allows you to unlockanyExotic armor piece in the game, including items you haven’t previously obtained. Using this tier of focusing costs an Exotic Cipher.
Exotic class items are excluded from Rahool’s third tier of focusing. All other Exotic armor pieces can be focused.

Increasing Your Cryptarch Rank
There’s only one way to increase your Cryptarch Rank:decrypt Engrams at Rahool.Engrams of higher rarity will grant additional reputation when decrypted, andfocusing Exotic engrams provides the most reputation.T2 focusing (targeting specific armor) is the most efficient, but if you don’t have many Ascendant Shards, T1 focusing (targeting smaller drop pools) also works.

Cryptarch Rank Rewards
When you first speak with Rahool, he will give you an Engram Ensiders Stamp Card.Resetting your rank with Rahool will let you redeem the card, unlocking a third tier of Exotic armor focusing.This lets you unlock any Exotic armor piece (excluding Prismatic class items) at the cost ofan Exotic Cipher. This is the main reason to rank up Rahool.
While leveling Rahool, you’ll also unlock some vendor rewards that can be redeemed whenever you speak with the cryptarch. He will award the following:
