InHades 2, the weapons of Melinoe are important in bringing some of the powerful bosses to their knees. However, you will also need the tools to extract valuable resources found in each biome of the Underworld and Olympus.
Mandrake is one of the many items you need to obtain to unlock mid and late-game incantations for Melinoe. The incantations help her become more powerful and support her as Melinoe traverses from one biome to another. This guide discusses how you’re able to get Mandrake seeds, where to plant them, and grow them to receive the Mandrake Roots in the game.

How To Get Mandrake
You need toobtain the Mandrake seeds from the Rift of Thessaly biome, which isnot in the Underworldbut on the surface. However, you cannot take a path leading to the surface. For this, youneed tobreak the surface ward, byunlocking the Permeation ofWitching-Wards incantation, which requiresa Cinder, andShadow itemsalong withthree Moly resources.
After breaking the surface ward and trying to head out, you mustunlock the Silver Spade. Thedig spots appear at random, so you will not find these in each run while visiting the Rift of Thessaly - equip the Silver Spade to make them appear more often.
Every time you diga spot using theSilver Spade tool,you will get one Mandrake seed.
Unlock Flourishing Soil Incantation
Afteracquiring at least one Mandrake seed, you need tocome back to the Crossroads and unlock the Flourishing Soil Incantation. This manifeststwo soil plots for you to grow various seedsin your inventory and Mandrake is one of these.
You canfind these soil plots near Odysseus, the Veteran Tactician. If two soil plots are not enough,you’re able to also unlock two more by unlocking the Rich Soil Incantation.
After plantinga Mandrake seed, it will growinto a Mandrake Root after you havecompleted 17 encountersin the game.
Where To Use Mandrake
TheMandrake Root is a mid-to-late game crafting materialthat you canutilize to enhance tools orupgrade an Arcana Card. For example, you will needfive Moon Dust and three Mandrake Root items to upgrade the Origination Arcana Card, which increases the damage Melinoe deals by 25, 38, and 50 percent to enemies with two or more curses.
You will alsoneed two Mandrake Root items and one Bronze item to upgrade the Silver Spade to rank two. Once the tool is upgraded, you get an increased chance of receiving more materials per interaction.
If you still have more Mandrake items in your inventory, youcan always visit the Wretched Broker and sellper unitfor 12 Bones.
